Looking for a outfit I can mail off my Cobra 29 LTD radio off to to get some stuff fixed on it and hot rodded too. The meter light went out and I'd like to get some of those color lighted knobs, and maybe the blue channel and meter lights. Also say an amp or whatever you guys use to get your radios juiced up. We have the 29 50th aniversary in it now but just want to get the old normal 29 set up pretty beefy. Any suggestions?

Yup!,send it to Al
Look into the RFX mod for outstanding modulation

customcbradios.com I've heard he is really good and fair

Ask what ever shop you use to do the mods to those led lights and nitro knobs so that you dont hear the buzz produced by them through your receive. If not then all you will hear is buzzzzzzzz!
Also, remember this. Before you spend all that money on the 29 you could add a few more bucks to it and buy a radio with all that stuff in it from the factory. -
It will take $350. to get over the performance of an RFX'd Cobra
with 60% of the toy(s) going unused 99% of the time.
Spending "more" for less . . . . ? -
They only increase power.geartow Thanks this.

Yeap, when done correctly, they can take a 4 watt cobra 29 to over 100 watts. That is better then you will get out of many of the exports these days, unless you go for one of the bigger exports but then you will be talking close to 400 bucks.

It's cheaper to just buy a better radio.

I wished it had been that cheap!
I got out for about $650, but that's counting 15' of coax, a 42" Hustler 1000w antenna, bird perch, flat braid ground and SWR meter.
Galaxay 98VHP turned up to 85% 375w
Did not want to tax the finals to hard.
