I don't think they were 'southerners'.
-
Thinking not. Been told too many times how good looking I am, especially if I'd loose a few pounds! And you?

Your threshold for humor is pretty low...tell us a bit about your military service.

I've heard of plenty but the only one I knew of for sure was at exit 68 off of I-95 in SC...thinking its long gone by now. The gals would get on a high powered cb and attempt to bring in the 'business'!

The last time I stopped at exit 139 was last spring (1st time in 8 years) for breakfast at the Arbys' inside of the store. Place was nearly empty. The order taker/counter person was a tall, slender, very dark skinned black woman who spoke very deliberately in mono sylables and in a very flat mono tone.
At the back of the restaurant was an older, gray haired, heavyset white male who would glare at me everytime I looked his way! He appeared to be doing some kind of paperwork but I was thinking he wasn't a truck driver. I hurriedly finished my meal and left!
Spooky.... -
jane lew is still like that--but i like stopping there--always a place to park and the chrome isnt a bad price as well--
once when i was thee the guy gave me 103.00 as change for something i bought with a five----i didnt want to be a dick so i pointed out his mistake---and he got mad at me---not a thankyou or anything just a mean old glare---i figured that little old truckstop needs it more than me--but maybe i guessed wrong -
My Brother-in-law retired from the Army and lives there,he put on 75 pounds, along with his wife, cause he's always eating in those BBQ joints like The Little Pig near Columbia SC.We did notice a lot of locals that had a few LBS too many on them, more than up here in NJ the Armpit of the nation (my brother-in-law calls NJ that).

condo cruiser, you were in clarksburg ,wv off to right off i-79 going north, the food is good , but you miss the restaurant and you do end up in the cattle auction area, no big deal really, but then i again i actually moved to wv from ga and lived ther from 1985 to 1990 in a town outside of beckley called beaver, wv. go figure a truckdriver meeting a beaver and moving there and ###### if the town wasnt named beaver. lol

significant, the truckstop at exit 68 has always been legit, but the exit 28, 98, and first exit across santee would clean your pipes and also a couple on 1-85 thru sc and also on I-26 and there is still one across the interstate from loves at the 301 exit on i-26
