I'm in Fontana, CA but I would think that the process is similar. You will go through everything that the non class A holders do, but you won't have to go to DMV. However when they are testing (not for DMV but so they know you know what is what) you will not be able to miss as many as a 'newbie'. That's because you are suppose to have done this type of thing before. Like on the PTI - you can't miss as many and on the driving as a newbie I was allowed 45 I think it was and those that already had their class A's could miss 20. Other than that, it was the same for all of us.
There were two guys in our class. One had driven for 13 yrs but was licensed from OK and CA doesn't recognise out of state licenses... the other was from CA but was basically out of school (a different one) and didn't have any real driving experience except for the schooling. Make sure you let your instructor know what type of experience you have - so if you don't have the practical experience they can adjust their expectations and instructions. but it won't change the testing limits.
