Could it be your co worker is in inept moron and there was nothing wrong with the GPS?

Do you realize there are only so many map makers on planet earth. More than likely that GPS and Google Maps are using maps from the exact same company lol. I don't know where people get the idea that they're are all different :biggrin_2559:

OP, add another vote for Rand McNally

ok i will add my opinion, i use the rand tnd 700. it is good and it is bad! that should keep both sides of this argument happy :p its great for a bit of quick planning and advance info of points along your route, it also makes it easier to get through citys you havent been to before. it saved me a lot of stress getting through a couple of big citys. now! the downside is you still need to read the signs, such as local truck routes and truck bypass routes, you still need to pre plan with an atlas and check what restrictions and local regs you will be coming across and YOU STILL NEED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK!!! you still need to call for directions and get all the usual info you need before arriving at a shipper/receiver and you still need to follow the company routing if they give it to you, you may get a different route from the gps. like everyone says use it as a added tool but dont trust it all the time. one advantage of the tnd700 is that i can get directions then look up the address on the gps and see the map of the area without needing to buy a local map of everyplace i go. saves a bit of money on local maps. buy the best you can afford, you get what you pay for!
