With the lack of miles drivers are seeing, you tell me how they can afford to pay out over $300.00 for those cards, when they are trying to make a house payment and put food on the table for thier family.
If Marten would 'front' the money to the driver, then yes many more would get the cards. It took 5 months for other drivers i know, to get paid back from Marten, three of them had to have their lawyers write a letter to Marten, informing them to pay back the driver ASAP or face small claims Judge.
Also i like how Tim says we don't go to Walgreens, what a lieing SOB. I have spent in the last two months, 7.5 hrs at Walgreens Woodland,CA, and 8 hrs at Walgreens Windsor,Wi. And NO DETENTION PAY !

Time has never been in a truck, he dosn't know the real world as drivers see it everyday. He is paid to spread the bs around and lie his ### off to get people come work for him.

Marten Corp. is just down the road for me. Home time won't be an issue for me. I want to live in my truck. My kids are grown. I don't expect grandkids for another 5 years atleast. No wife. No girlfriend.

BTW, I did not read the 4 pages of this thread so I don't know if I missed anything.

Do your homework, that includes reading everything if possible, and then get it in writing or it may not happen.

    Just sayin... Good Luck.

SkiBum, You seem to have some really negative feelings toward your employer, Marten Transport. What's up with that? Marten is rated as one of the nation's best carriers so, why the negative attitude? Marten Transport reimburses its drivers for Hazmat, TWIC and Passport cards as soon as the receipts are turned in. With so many drivers it would not be a good accounting procedure to "front" the cost for these cards. Also, we could not find any instance where it took 5 months for a driver to receive a reimbursement. Tim has been involved in the trucking industry for more than 20 years and is quite knowledgeable. May I suggest you stop in and meet him whenever you are in Mondovi? I am sure that after you speak with him your hostile feelings toward the company could be reduced.

Marten used to be a good company years ago..Not anymore. They are now just your run of the mill dirtbag carrier..

Kinda like Swift with reefers..Yes,I did drive for them.It was good for the first year or so,then the miles started dropping more and more to the point where it was no longer worth the hassle...

Next time you're on I-80 heading to or from Reno, you'll see what the problem is..Miles and miles of trailers on flatbed rail cars..Marten is well represented among them.

It says it on there website that pay is on a sliding scale depending on how far the length of haul is.
