Hey truckers, I am starting out on my training next week and in the list sent to me via email from my trainer i was told to pack a crow bar. The only crow bars I know of are large and hard to pack. Why do I need a crow bar? Is it really a necessity? Can I pack something other than a crow bar that can serve the same purpose? I would really appreciate your input thank you.:biggrin_25519:

Crowbars can serve a dual purpose... you can use them to check your tires (make sure they are not off the rims) and you can use the crowbar to pull out the locking pin from the fifth-wheel

those would be my assumptions anyways....

or MAYBE, your trainer is just seeing if you will obey a simply yet request,...lol

Do you know what type of loads you all typically haul? The main reason for having a crowbar is for pulling nails, at least thats my reasoning, and if you do need one for that, then dont get just the "J" looking one, get the other type that has a claw also extending opposite of the bottom part of the j, dont know what they are called though.

Pretty heavy to be used for a thumper, lol at least for me, and if you try to use it for a fifth wheel puller I doubt it would work very well cuz there is too much hook in the J. Dont know why your trainer would want you to bring one of your own though, pretty odd unless there is so many nails in the bed that it's so much faster with two, or two pry bars

I would be in prison now if I had packed a crowbar with first trainer. The temptation would have been to great. Dude was an arse of the highest degree. They sell those little plastic playschool carpenter crowbars at toys r us and a few other toy stores. Maby you should consider buying one of them. If he is a sever arse, its one less piece of temptation you dont kneed.

And mine too!! I tried to kill him with Lysol! he would have smelled better if he was dead in the truck for a few weeks than what he did being alive.
