Crowbars, particularly heavy ones, can be persuasive in the right applications. I'm a new driver but have found plenty of uses for my "persuader".

Now I would have asked why I needed a crowbar on a reefer..but hey that is me... -
Maybe the trainer is so bad of a driver the OP will need it to pry his arse off the seat?
The trainer was just being nice and warning him as I would not want to be using a used pry bar thats been used on another messy arse on mine! -
Needed crowbar once in refer to pry frozen doors open

If the company you are going to loads roll stock paper, the trailer must be free of nails. It is easier to use a crowbar than pulling them out by hand or with your teeth.
-
Trainer probably lost his crowbar and doesn't want to buy a new one. It does seem like an odd request. Most trainers want students to pack as light as possible.
