Meant to add that when at home everything is unplugged, cooler inside getting cleaned.

I drive an 06 volvo. I drive on a dedicated account which means i get my 34 at home almost every weekend.

The laptop stays plugged in the inverter all weekend long and so does the waeco 12v cooler. The truck starts fine every time even in cold weather.

I actually got home friday night and dont have to leave until monday morning this week. The truck will start no problem.

    YMMV

Yep, I USED to think the same thing...until one cold morning at 0300 when oddly it decided not to. If on a 34 at home, everything is unplugged and off. Just an overnight at home, cooler will run in the truck.

When i was company, i had a 100w inverter and a 400w inverter. Would never leave them plugged in when i went into the shop (just in case....times i have forgot to unplug them, but they've never said anything to me). But I can leave the 400w plugged in overnight without the engine running and not be a problem.

I HAVE had problems not running the truck, having a 12v c-c-c-coola plugged in, and needing a jump. After a couple of those, the company does keep an eye on ya a little closer, and might haul you into the shop to do a battery check. But like any one-sided investigation, they can find evidence against you or for you....just depends on what kind of trouble they want to get you in.

I've seen co drivers hard wire inverters onto their batteries, and are totally clueless when trying to hide them. Its pretty obvious when you can see cable running up from the battery compartment, up to the side compartment door.

Well crap, fried the 12v in the bunk. I took the panel off and it looks the whole harness would need to be replaced.

Again, the bunk wires are not heavy enough...only use the front one

Yup, not designed for inverter use, only a tv with a 12v plug. Inverters and heated appliances like lunchbox ovens should really only be used in the very front outlet. ;)

It wasn't even the inverter, just the splitter with too much on it. Same principle I suppose lol.
