American Trucker -
So being an Asian guy with previous driving record of a ticket and an accident, my chances of being hired is not so high?
-
One ticket and one accident? What kind of accident? If it's not that big of a one, you still stand a chance of getting hired. How long ago were both incidents?
-
I got a ticket 4 years ago for not stopping at a red light when making a right turn, and an accident 2 years ago in which I sideswiped another car on a highway because it was snowing heavily but I wasn't speeding, I can't control the car, it was skidding to the right and hit the other car, no injury, the state trooper sergeant gave me a warning for it, no ticket, so what do you think?
-
Most companies go back three years on their applications for accidents and tickets. Check out the websites of companies that you are interested in for their specifics on that type of stuff. It may cause you a bit of difficulty with some companies, but you should be able to get hired.
The accident, even though you only got a warning should be mentioned on the applications. Even though you didn't get a ticket, it will still show up. The other ticket, if they ask for that time span. Some companies may go back 5 years. Still shouldn't cause you major problems.supremeguy Thanks this. -
Being asian will NOT keep you from getting a job! lol In fact if it does go get yourself a fancy lawer and enjoy the rest of your life in you Giant new house on your private island!
But seriously that ticket shouldnt be a problem at all. The accident might take a few companies off your platter but it shouldnt keep you from getting a job at all.
I would just to make yourself feel a little more confindent, call some recruiters and ask if you meet there requirments, before you pay for school.
As long as you can drive, you'll be fine.
Good Luck!
American TruckerLilbit and supremeguy Thank this. -
