I agree, my '03 doesn't have them.

I agree with the posters who are recommending WD 40. Spray it right into the keyhole, liberally. Let it sit for about twenty minutes, spray it again lightly and try your key. EASY DOES IT with the key. Run it through the lock/unlock cycles a few times. If this doesn't take care of the problem, then you are probably looking at replacing the cylinder.
Regular use of WD 40 in your locks will extend their life waaaaaaaay out. And that includes padlocks as well. -
Just because yours doesn't have them doesn't mean they don't exist.GuysLady Thanks this.

Okay, just one last thought. Pete started using transponders as a special order item as far back as 94. And hidden transponders are very very common.

Am I missing something? I never said they didn't exist, simply that my '03 doesn't have them. I've owned Peterbilts for over 35 years, to the best of my knowledge, unless a '96 was converted, it doesn't have them either. Please enlighten me if I am mistaken...

My 96 doesn't. Where can I buy new cylinders? Peterbilt?
-
That's where I'd start.

Im a new member so I can"t PM you .....I live in Dillon also......PM if you like ..
I have a 99 379 and have taken the dors apart to free up the locks, about every two to three yrs..
a friend has a KW and the previous owner had drilled a hole in the dood jamb...
When I had mine apart this last time I drilled Mine....just big enough to get a WD-40 straw in 2 holes one for lock & door handle.....this way never have to take door apart again for this problem....
