LOL! I didn't say you have to use them!!

Truthfully, I am not sure of this entire Body Mass Index thing.. supposedly, my ideal weight is in the 115-125 range. I neer felf good in that range. I lacked energy, and got sick easily. At 145-160 is where I feel my best, where I have energy, and I stay fairly healthy.. so I don't know what to think.

What I think is that people have lost their minds. If I actually weighed what they say to I'd weigh what I did when I was 19. I was so underweight at that point they stuck me in a hospital and made me gain 10 pounds before they'd let me out. Then I had to gain ten more. Frankly it was no problem. I gain weight like a sponge sucks up water. But I'd had mono and strept at the same time so I'd dropped almost 40 lbs.

Anyway. I'm 5'7" and the idea of me weighing 100 lbs is laughable. Not to mention I'd constantly be ill. I know what it's like to weigh that and my body isn't healthy at that weight.

I'd like to weigh around 150 and even then my husband would think I was to skinny. Whenever he sees photos of me in my early twenties he says I look like I just got out of a pow camp and need to eat. LOL

Nana, in my teen years I went through a spell of just not wanting to eat... there were all sorts fo reasons, but mainly just that I didn't want to... I weighed a whopping 86 pounds at the start of my Junior year of High School. Size 2 pants tried to fall off. My son says those old pictures make me look like a skeleton with skin stretched too tight!

Today, I weigh 148. And I FEEL GOOD. So I will just stick with this place.

I weighed 97 when they stuck me in the hospital back when I was 19. My mom came and got me from college and cried when she saw me. She took me straight to the dr and they sent me straight to the hospital. Oddly I still had inner thighs LOL You can starve the irish but you'll never get that fat thigh off of us.

I truly hope that no one ever uses the BMI as an indicator of anything. There are way too many things it doesn't take into account, such as body type, muscle amounts, etc. BMI is pretty much useless to the bast majority.
