Does anyone know what the 130-9710 camshaft sells for? Are there any other parts required to switch over to this cam?Last edited: Feb 21, 2011

Talked to CAT today a new one is 1500 for new and reman is 860(cant find the paper i wrote it down on)
PLUS CORE CHARGE -
you'll gain roughly 50 hp. I'd do the cam now and you can always do he other upgrades as funds become availablegreenstar Thanks this.

Some dealers won't give you the core exchange on this part number. The reason is you aren't returning the exact part number for the core.

how do they reman a cam ? just don't seam like it would be possible
-
They can build up weld on it then regrind it.
or maybe they put layers of duct tape on it to build the lobes back up. lolLast edited: Feb 23, 2011

think id go for a new cam

A reman cam can be just as good as a new one.
It all comes down to if it was done right but the same thing goes for a new one. just like a new truck should not breake down but they do.
