as a former owner of a t600, i can tell you without a dought the driver could NOT see the cop car using just the factory mirrors

to see where he was you'd need the hood mirrors, and he didnt have any

trucker, in the wrong for not signaling a lane change
cop....a dumbarse for attempting to pass on the right

then im sorry, perhaps thats the reason your the " former " owner of a t600 that cop traveled at least! 53 feet! aka the entire length of the trailer..
do you always/ever merge over, either way, left or right, with out checking the lane your merging into before you make the move...
im sorry, iguess im playing the devil's advocate here, but to me, even tho the cop should have never been in the right lane and passsing as he was, i put the blame on the truck driver...
that cop was wrong i know!
but the law, and the witness who " saw him PUSH the cop " into the wall, this video will only do bad for the truck driver ( if found ) if/when it goes to court....
this is only my h/o, i hate to see another strike against us, and even more so when somethign like this is being played in areas on local news such as philadelphia.... but this video dsnt look good at all.... a single blink of the right signal is not a real signal that ur coming back over...

The truck driver moved left but never moved back right. The lanes were distorted due to construction but if you watch the duals on the truck and trailer you can see he stayed straight. The cop veered off and probably followed the barrels as an edge.. The merge that the barriers create make it look as though the truck is moving back to the right but he isnt, he is traveling a straight path.

Both are clearly at fault. First of all there is a solid white line there. That means you don't change lanes which both did. They both shorten the curve.

The truck driver uses his left turn signal only but never completes the lane change completely and then comes back without a signal. If you notice he has no fish eye mirrors, hence blind spots. I know he felt the impact but probably wrote it off for a pothole.

The cop on the other hand like all of them is in the left lane and shoots out from behind the semi with an illegal lane change through a lane shift where the drivers eyes are on the road and not the mirror at that second.

The manner of the truck drivers lane control is not the best. I sense some inexperience.

What bugs me is the maroon pick up that clearly seen it all and just kept going. If I was him, I'd be leary of passing that truck as he does later.

A 5' Mexican can barely see out the window, let alone get a good view out the mirror, lol.

volvo, watch the video with the full screen shot, he clearly moves to the left, then back to the right lane again... theres only 2 lanes there! not 3..

as the cop starts his dumb ### move, look at the barrles, they are in the right travle lane, and crushed, by a truck no doubt, it looks like the truck switched lanes to aviod running them over, and cop, clearly didnt feel like waiting for him...
in the truck drivers defense, the cop should have known better, he should no those traffic patterns more then anyone els... specially a truck that most likly is not from the area...
do you think maybe the cop is cursing non stop because he realized he
f-ed up and has no way of hiding his own screw up...
reguardless, the truck driver knew for a fact that he hit something, theres no way he didnt feel something odd in his merg....

soo... heres an outside view of the cop car... looks like theres more damage done to the driver side of the cop car, then on the passanger side... looks like maybe the cop tried to not hit the wall? maybe?

watching all 3 videos that are posted here, i see 2 lanes through that area...

i am going on an "assumption" the cop thought the trucker was going to stay in the left lane, so therefore, the cop would have only been traveling in the right lane as would be normal.

from what i am seeing, the trucker did more of a slide back over to the right lane, and i don't care how big, how heavy that truck and its contents in the trailer are, that driver would have felt something, and LOOK into his mirrors.......(use the second video clip for MORE DETAILS) if you take a closer look, you can plainly see the trucks right side mirrors, which means the trucker had ample time to scan them for anything coming up his right side, then continue watching, and you will see the trailer "rock" as he hits the car, a clear indication HE KNEW he hit something.....

negligence on the truck drivers part. i hope they catch him and he get's screwed over.....

you are ALWAYS TOLD, (at least i always tell them in school), if you are NOT SURE of anything being on your right side/left side (and the blind spot areas), slow down a bit or speed up to "catch" something in your mirrors, BEFORE you move over.....

    dumbarse trucker....

I bet the driver felt it. Might have actually felt good too. It's hard to not get a little bit on the side of the trucker.

I'm more surprised that we are on page 3 and no one has blamed this on a "New Driver" or some "Training Company Truck".

i looked many many times at the clips---and see the left signal on--then the truck just barely gets in to left lane and starts back into right lane--but turns on signal after he starts the lane change
and yes the truck has convex mirror --its the bottom 3rd of his mirror
sooo i would think the driver is mainly at fault---but then again --how fast was the cop car going ??
and did he signal his change from left to right---
neither one should have changed lanes as well---its a solid white line

but leave it to the media in the third clip--they made the truck sound worse than an destructive tornado
and what did the cop have to go to the hospital for??? choke on a donut???

and sooo i guess he made his lane change--then turned his blinkers on--a bit like reruns signiture line ???

Enough said. Both should be cited for an improper lane change which led to the accident. Most likely there was a sign saying stay in your lane. Then they can both be cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Even though the trucker was wildly using the whole road, why did the cop find a need to pass in that tight situation? Just another dumb 4 wheeler, but with bubbles up top. :)
