I am going to be running as an independent contractor for a lady who owns a few trucks. More or less going to be an O/O minus the truck payment. My question is what are the laws about having a rider with you???

Depends a lot on the insurance company and what riders are on the policy itself. Also whether or not you are going International with the passenger.

based on the truck insurance or from personal???

I'm not sure if I'm reading this right? But you don't own the truck the lady does and she is going to pay you with a 1099?? Which isn't legal if that's the case.

Yes your reading it right. The lady i will be running for later this week owns 3 trucks and for some reason she is having us run as contractors. I do know some company's likes "Paramount" out of FL runs that way also. If this is an illegal practice can you please point me to a website stating this.
