Hey everyone. I am attending GA Driving Academy March 7. I am looking at either TMC or Boyd to get my experience. One thing i hear about TMC is they do not have any APUs. They will not allow you to idle unless it is below 15 degrees or above 85 degrees (company policy). Do Boyd Bros trucks have APUs? I dont see how you could run a TV monitor, microwave, refrigerator or a laptop off of an invertor without something making electricity. It seems like you would drain the batteries getting your breaks. How many miles are you Boyd drivers getting a week? I appreciate the info.

I'm not sure bout the temp rating for TMC but from the drivers I talk to its true. Bunk warmer r a must n cost the driver to get. At boyd, most trks have the old style apu n ALL new trks have the new style apu. If a driver happens to get trk without apu than we r allowed to idle. Trainin on both sides is top notch. I train for boyd n I know first hand boyd is strict with safety. I worked for TMC the first five months of my career. Wasn't good for me but doesn't mean it isn't good for the next driver. The miles r good here at boyd. Slow week for me is round 1800 n good week round 2500. U gotta take good with the bad though. Either company.

Good luck is ur decision makin. Any other questions feel free to ask. Will answer best I can. God bless.
