Been a while since I updated and things have changed a little bit. This time of year seems to find me doing other things than what I've posted about on here; hauling sludge and trash. Lately I've been hauling a lot of wood fuel for Smurfitt Stone in Panama City, Fl, I pull 2 a day out of Tallahassee and pre-load in the afternoons so I can get an early jump on the day, my day starts at 2am and if all goes well I wrap it up within my 14. I finally turned on my Sirius/XM radio in my truck and let me tell you what a difference that makes, never did I think XM could make such a difference in my trucking life but let me tell you it's been a saving grace, definately helps me get through the early morning hours and keep pushing on through the day. There might be a change of pace on my horizon, we'll just have to see how the summer goes, thinking of going back to pulling long dumps, just looking for a bit more stability throughout the year. We'll see what happens............

Let me tell you, the 21.95 a month I spend on my Sirius Satellite radio is money well spent. Keep your options open and do what is right for you and your family. After following your posts the last year or so I'm quite sure you will do what's right.

Don't know if ya got my replj the other day, but yeah that was probably me headin home. Good luck on whatever ya decide on tryin out, I thought about talkin to Roy again about pullin frameless over there, since they are closer to home. Not really sure I would get home any more often though, and that would be the real reason for me to change. That and not havin to pay state tax for NC...lol

Appreciate the response JohnBoy, it's definately a decission that will take some time to think about, I've just got to figure out what's right for me and my wife. Springer I did get your response and as far as hometime at Pritchett it would probably be the same as what you're getting now, we've got some guys that run all over the place and we've got some guys just running the southeast. Of course if you open yourself up to be dispatched anywhere the money will look better, in the end it's probably about the same as what you're doing now, but I'll tell you the guy that dispatches long dump is a hell of a guy to work for, that's one of the biggest reasons I'm reconsidering going back over to his dispatch.

That's the thing that keeps me here, the money up in Tallahassee is pretty good too. All the people in Lake Butler are class acts in my opinion. The flatbed division is all but dried up, we do have some dedicated accounts up my way, I have a buddy who hauls treated lumber out of Metcalfe, Ga everyday going to Eufala, Al.

I'm going to blow the dust off of this thread for now. I've hinted to it over the past year or so, well today I was offered a transfer back to the long dump division running the southeast, home weekends, running no further north than NC and KY, and nothing really west of LA, there might be a rare chance of going outside these territories but I made it known I prefer to operate strictly in the south. I've yet to make a commitment but my wife and I would like to relocate back to central Florida because we have family and friends there, and this would work out great.........move and stay employed with my current company. Any advice or constructive criticism is welcome, I think the writing is on the wall but I hate to make the wrong decission.

Sounds like that is what you should do,if you want to stay in the south. That would not happen where I am at. Good luck and let me know if you move back in my area ,we can meet for lunch or a cool drink Oh by the way that was not me in north Florida the other day . I was in Cape Cod, Mass. currently in Avoca ,PA at the Petro.
