This is what I was told recently after 3 days of orientation that included physical, screen, agility test which included lifting varying weight amounts to various heights, range of motion, written tests....all of which I passed with no problem. The third day I'm pulled to the side by the instructor and taken to a small office. He says he doesn't know anything and leaves. Two other men come in and tell me my application has been denied. I ask why, and they shake their heads and look totally perplexed and tell me that "they" didn't tell them. After more head scratching and shoulder shrugging the man on the right gives me his card - "Safety Manager" - he writes a man's name on it with an ext. # and tells me to call this guy the following Monday. I call him Friday and ask why my app. was denied. His response? "Who let you go?". I tell him and he says "Well I guess you need to ask them."
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm a recent graduate and I'm 51. My heart rate and B/P were as good or better than anyone during the agility test.
Application denied - no reason given. Does this sound familiar?

No sir:that doesnt sound "normal".

something just doesn't add up.......did you leave anything off your application...any driving offenses or crimes...I hate to ask that , but there has got to be a reason why they didn't hire you

Could be age discrimination but they don't want to say it...

reptij Thanks this.

Wouldn't they have had his age off his pre-ap or whatever they call the questionnaire prior to going to orientation. Don't do big companies but you have to be pre-screened before they pay your transport to orientation don't they.
