I am thinking about going to Crete. I have some questions first.
1. How are you treated as a driver?
2. How good are load planners at planning loads?
Let me explain this one;
With the company I am with now does not think before they pick loads;
I get dispatched on a load that picks up at 6:00pm and delivers the following morning at 7:00am. This is not a big problem, but I drive better during the day, so now my body clock is thrown off. I drive all night get the load delivered by 6:00am. I am now out of hours and really tired so I go on break (been up for 20hrs). I wake up at 7:00pm and find out I have been dispatched on a load that picks up at 6:00am the next morning only 30 miles deadhead. I sleep all day so i will be fresh and ready for a load. Now that I have been asleep all day I cannot go back to sleep (I have tried only toss and turn all night, even if I do sleep I wake up felling like crap cause I sleep so much). The load has just enough time on it to drive my hours and make delivery. This is where I get screwed. If I cannot sleep between 7:00pm and 5:00am because I sleep all day. No I have to pick up load at 6:00am and drive 10-11 hours. By the end of the trip I will have been up for almost 24 hours, if I don't get tired before I make delivery.
Please don't try and read any more into this than what I wrote (like how many miles). Just look at the times, witch are not exactly right but gives you the Idea. As I wrote this I was getting confused a little so please forgive me if I did not explain good enough.
3. I would like to see a full trip listing everything you have to do including ALL messages sent on Qualcomm, from first thing in the morning to receiving load dispatch to p/u to delivery including what has to be done when going on and off 10hr break. (I do ask for a reason.)
4. Is Crete on E-Log?
5. Are you fuel routed?
6. What are the trucks governed at?
7. What do you not like about Crete?
Thanks,
Tommy
P.S.
Sorry for posting this here but it seems to be the most used about Crete.
