Truckers have thier share of whiners and crybabies like all proffessions...I allways thought it was frustration from being on the road lonely and away from family and friends and a lack of good steady sex frankly...seriously...
what am i suppose to think?

just wait, driving ain't the military.....your time WILL COME.....
uh...huh.....he has no idea of what he is in for in the trucking world....he'll be wishing he was back on the front line..and where many things were "structured" in his day.... -
A bunch of whiners happens for a reason. Since most drivers don't stay with a company more than two years, there is a large pool of job applicants. Unfortunately there are a whole bunch of companies that take advantage of that situation. Use em and abuse em. If they don't like it, let em quit and hire the next one in line.
You can tell the legitimate complaints from the flamers. Either way, a large amount of complaints means something. But a large company equals more complaints. There is no miracle company for a newbie. You have to pay your dues at any of them. A bad trainer or bad dispatcher is not the whole company. -
When first started yep right on it what I did. But CRE when I drove for them 100 a week in advances was max. Normaly took 50 ate in truck played no games what so ever Idled only when I had too Idle % was about 5% MPG run avg 7.1 . But this was week I quit on not because it but because it was a average,
3259 miles x .90= 2933.00
3259 x .24 FSC = 782.16
Total Revenue =3715.16
.13 cpm varabile milage =423.67
.07 cpm maint. = 228.13
Fuel cost 1647.86
Truck payment 497.35
Insurance 299.35 (All Required)
.015 cpm fuel tax 48.88
Permits 46.35
Total truck expense 3191.59
Gross pay 583.16
- 105 adv
- 74.33 to taxes
- 15.99 to tax sevice
= net bringhome 387.84
Now I remind you normaly i got 2300- 2600 miles so this was a good week.
But I am sure you can show me how I screwed ip
-
No i think it's fairly obvious where you screwed up, you signed the lease in the first place. Sorry not a fan of leases. But to point out a few things first they were absolutely hosing you on insurance.... 299.35 X 4.3333333 (average weeks in a month)= 1297.18 and thats just tractor insurance? WOW!!!! and a 2100++ truck payment you were doomed from the start. I hope you get back on your feet and wish you luck

I quit at end of 6 mopnth lease.

Most new drivers cannot figure out the three things one needs to know about trucking and how to make it work FOR them.
1. No Rules: nonsense like "I don't drive at night", "I won't haul pork" & "I need to be home every Wednesday" will kill your paycheck.
2. Availability: Do you have hours ? Drive them.
3. Attitude: You may not like your load assignment but keep it to yourself. Give your dispatcher a reason to not call you and they won't. Drive with your mouth shut. Get a stuffed animal on your dash and tell it why you hate your assignment.
Unless you work for "Lil' Princess Freight Lines" you better be ready to roll when the phone rings (QC blips) or whatever your trigger mechanism is.
Whiners and complainers want without the "give" portion of the bargain.
However, some whiners truly got messed over by their employer. However, not getting a run in three days after you called your Dispatcher a Fuzzy ##$!##$ not a reason to say THE COMPANY sucks.
Answer phone. Say "Thank You". Put on shoes. Run. -
Sounds like Troy needs to dump that worthless 100$ a week girflriend for one that has a job....even if its only a job at Taco Bell....hell be better off in the long run....I know from experience....

There is a big difference from crying, and being pizzed off becouse you were jacked by a lying conartist recruiter and needing someplace to vent your anger among other people who understand it. Kinda goes with trying to help other people so they dont make same mistakes you made.

I was only told that there were jobs available! Hehehhehehee
That was better than what was available in my previous career of 30 years in land surveying. yes it was related to construction.
