It's too bad that you left since you were the only one working for them that had these qualities.:biggrin_25526:

I am sure you gave them respect by the tone your post gives.. I will tell you this Greatwide has its moments but..... your lack of insight can be seen in the shallowness of your post. I have been with this company for years. I have seen the good and the bad. You are right we don't need staff feeling sorry for us, but it is better than them lying to us about some magical place called the home office and telling us of this magical woman who made money appear on our checks. We earned the money and you guys in Dallas screwed us out of it and didn't use any grease. I am owed about 42 hours detention and wait time right now.. I will never see it and I don't care anymore. I do know that it was sent to the magical lady but obviously she was out of magic pixie dust. and no its not the crap you had to have a 10 our break detention it is legit.. You are right greatwide is great.... bantha pooodo

You know what I have thought about it and I feel I was a tad bit rude here.. SORRY BOUT THAT..I get a bit worked up about my money.

Here is my main issues. When I leased on YEARS AGO, the big shots would come to the terminal and listen to the drivers they seemed to even act on what we asked about sometimes. If they told us they were going to look into something they took your truck number and phone number and would call you back and tell you what they found out, or that after investigating the problem they found out what the problem was.. EVEN if it was YOU.

We use to see the people atleast once a month they treated us very good.. I have even seen assistant terminal managers dispatchers and Terminal managers threaten to be fired if they are EVER caught lying to a driver.. Now days if you take a day off they want to know why if you had your truck in the shop they want a copy of the work order before you go back in service.

Maybe its not a bad company all and all , but the changes that were made were made months before they updated the contract and we were never told of them.. I know patmat is going to disagree with this post but it is true we are not treated well and not paid like we were agreed to be paid, but I would give up the money if I knew the guy on the phone or at the window was still on my side.

A lot of things at GW is just wrong, they told us that they wouldn't put on a 2000 truck.Last week an agent in NC got a guy with a 2000 truck rehired. It's not like they have so much freight that they really needed trucks.:biggrin_25512:

It's beyond cheap. They actually had freight on the Ca.board last week that was so cheap, you would have had to borrow just to buy fuel.We deadheaded to Salt Lake City, just to get an oversize. It was the only thing paying decent.Deisel going up,GW's rates going down.:biggrin_25523:

I am not shallow and I am insulted you think you know me so well after a short conversation. I have plenty of horrible things to say about this company. Every time I log in I have to re write what I say. I created my profile because I wanted to speak out, but I am not sure it is the right thing to do. Before you decide to say anything else to me or about me on here why don't you do some research. Talk to ANY of the Cleburne contractors, pick any one you want. (as long as they were with GW prior to May of last year b/c i left in May) In fact don't stop at one.... talk to as many of them as you want. Ask them about me. My name is Paige.

I know you already gave a half ### apology. I have a feeling if you are a decent person you might want to give a whole hearted one after you gain some INSIGHT on me.

I will be happy to continue this conversation with you once you learn a thing or two about me. There is no reason for me to reply to anything you say when you already know my opinion before I even give it.

Thank you. Leaving wasn't an easy thing to do. I loved my job. I loved working for the contractors. Something WorldofTrans might not fully understand, GW treats some of their office staff just as bad as the contractors, sometimes worse. I stayed as long as I could stand it. Finally Dallas (and upper management in Cleburne) pushed me until I broke. One day I snapped at a contractor. This guy hadn't done anything to deserve this. I gave my two weeks notice that day. My frustration was at corp and management and not the contractors.

I honestly have almost nothing good to say about GW. My earlier posts were not intended to sound like I was defending them. But, I feel like one should know the facts. If a contractor goes to complain about something and includes in the argument things that aren't true they are dismissed like they have no clue about anything. I am not saying that they will be heard if they don't do this... But, if they do actually find someone that cares enough to listen and at least try to help they would only hurting themselves.

The big majority of drivers/o/o are stating facts about GW.When it's happening to you,it's a fact.I believe you that you weren't just there for a paycheck. The fact still remains, that you got your paycheck on payday. Truckers do need their pay and they deserve every dime owed them in a timely manor. When an o/o sits a week in a truck stop,it's costing him to be leased to GW. A lot of the flat/step div. have no one looking for a load for them. They have to go on GW board and find their own.Everything on that board is brokered freight.99.9% of the agents are lying about the loads they post on there.Where it says brokered freight they post "false".GW only cares about their 25%,it doesn't matter to them how cheap the load is,they are still making a profit. The o/o is the only one loosing.:biggrin_25513:
