Has anyone else had their funding suspended? I was all ready to start next week and then suddenly, pfft, funding's been suspended as of yesterday. There is a TINY, very tiny chance I might still be able to go but they're not sure. I just wonder if this has happened to other students.

    Why use that.
You live in Ga if you have been there for over a year, got highschool diploma or a GED.
You qualify for the Hope grant at any tech school.

I was lucky and received my WIA funding last July, and completed my CDL school and am working. I suspect funding of this program has ran dry and the government doesn't want to spend more. Lets face it, The U.S. is BROKE. At least my 202 ounces of gold are going up fast! Today Gold is over $1,340 and is still rising!.

The squabbling in Congress is what's causing the mess up, I do believe.

And yeah, I could use the Hope grant and everything, but I wouldn't exactly call myself "patient," especially after having gone through the whole WIA process AND hearing that I would be starting school next Monday, only to have my funding suspended is a little ridiculous. But at least if nothing else, Prime said they would still take me in for their CDL program if I choose to go back to that route. I may end up taking their offer if I can't start Daly's next week.

A little patients goes a long way
If you go the tech school way you will recieve far better training
You will not be locked into a contract with a carrier either.

Yeah, I know. That's always true. I was going to drive for either Prime or Watkins Shepard for a year or more anyway so I guess going to a company school wouldn't be SO bad, you know? I'm kinda in that period of life where I just gotta get out of the rut and get on to achieving a childhood dream.

    Wish you the best.
My son went the tech school way and hope paid for it
He ended up with CRST he has no contract to make him stay and because he went in with a cdl he started out with better pay than those who went through "company training"

You may wanna check out your local community college--they may have other options for that and it would be much cheaper in the long run rather than go to a "company school". I know the community college here is way cheaper than the school i attended. I think there is more options than the WIA funding.

That's exactly what the Ga. lottery Hope grant pays for.
They are called Tech schools here.
