I never said i have not made a mistake....BUT have never had an accident or damaged a truck other than a couple tree limb scratches on a trailer.
I did home delivery of furniture for about 15 years so tree limbs were just a part of that deal.
I'm sure there are guys that have been out there longer than me with a spotless record too so believe what you want.......
I drove a Nascar hauler for over 5 years too.Do you think they would hire anyone with accidents on their record to haul a few million dollars worth of cars and equipment?...Not a chance!
Would you like Rick Hendricks or Richard Petty's number to verify my work history?
Sorry bellydumper but with 3 years under your belt you are still a rookie as far as i'm concerned...
Schnieder put me in the median!

I may have to borrow that in the future.
jakebrake12 and EZ Money Thank this. -
Congrats on the near 29 years! And YES,with all these new breed know it all drivers on the road today things are much worse than it used to be.
Nothing personal to the younger crowd but you will never know it all and will always learn.
I still learn every week. -
i almost got into a bad wreck last summer. i was headin down the highway doing about 45/50 because rain was so bad you couldnt see for crap. so i'm driving, driving, out of NOWHERE i see as far as i can go red from brake lights. i had about 20 car lengths in front of me and thank god. now i'm in a straight truck, i stomped the brake pedal the hardest i ever had in a truck before. tires lock up, truck starts sliding, then starts sliding sideways, i'm in both lanes now, still going sideways down the highway. i'm spinning more and more, at this point i'm looking at the north bound lane. reaction and instinct took over and i thank my time driving off road in my blazer for how i handled the situation. didnt panic or anything. its after it happens that gets you isnt it? ha. weird how that happens. anyway..
i got her back straight and it didnt flip but #### it was close, the back wheels on the drive side came up off the ground. i was so shook up i pulled off the highway into the shoulder just to catch my breath because i couldnt believe i didnt flip over. congrats on keepin your rig up, too bad he didnt respond on the CB so you could give him an earful -
Good job to you too o.m.d!
I used to race dirt tracks back in the early 80's.
Maybe our turning right to go left experience paid off!..
You are right too.....I didn't really get shook up about it until i got home later that morning and was thinking about it. -
i swear it has to do with driving that k5. i almost went off a nice drop off going 50. no seat belt. i would have of died. when i went and looked at my tire tracks they were less then a foot from the edge.
when it was happening i wasnt even thinking i just acted, a few seconds after i got it straight was when i went "HOLY MOTHER" cant say the rest of the quote hahaha. but i was literally yelling in my truck i was so freaked out. -
Congratulations and thanks to you as well. I'm sure at some point your ability and know how behind the wheel has prevented an accident but that is rarely noticed and not reported.
I genuinely love to hear from you 20+ year drivers and if all the newer drivers picked up one thing from you drivers it would be an amazing thing..
