Seems pretty reasonable to me, although I'm not coming to that conclusion based on what you've posted. Computers usually don't say things like "That would also be a disqualifier". It's possible, but not likely. As for entering "no" for rehire, Operations could have checked a box on a sheet of paper and tossed it into a file...would that have made things any different? Obviously they have some reason for not wanting you back.

The continuous experience requirement should be obvious. If a person has missing months, that may mean that (s)he is leaving out some employers with whom (s)he parted company on less than friendly terms.

Good luck with that one. I think it goes with the territory.

When you come into the student program at Prime, it's explained that the instruction portion can pretty much be taken as a 3 week long job interview. I'm going to hazard a guess that when IFM had the conversation regarding his instructor with his dispatcher and his dispatchers superior, that there was an attitude issue that was apparent to both of them. Hence, being given the no rehire. Prime isn't going to take a risk on someone that they think could go off when a customer does something to piss them off (and yeah, it happens), and risk the loss of a customer.

As far as not being given a new instructor, if there is a legitimate reason one will be given. I've helped guys that had crappy instructors get new ones. However if you ask for a new instructor because the one you have is being too tough on you with his criticism of your driving, grow some thicker skin. Our job is to teach you to drive the truck and criticize your driving to make sure you pass the test. I've had some students that have been decently unhappy with me at some point during their insturction, one even asked for a new instructor, and when it was explained why, he was denied the new instructor and was told to finish with me. I've never had a student fail a pretrip, had one fail a backing test by one point, and clip a curb on his road test.

The only attitude I had was a desire to learn. Why does Prime and the people who speak for them constantly act as if they are impervious to any amount of accountability? Right, because they're a corporation protecting their interests and the concerns of a student are insignificant. Got it. That doesn't bother me because that's nothing new. What leaves a bad taste in my mouth is I was directly lied to. I was told I could come back, and that would have been without a CDL, too.

As far as any temper issues, that was all on him. Yeah, they're so worried about a student who never disrespected his instructor going off on a customer. Are you kidding me? To the people who missed it before: He had the short temper.

But nobody is going to discuss that. Certainly not Prime. No, instead I keep hearing "duh ur deh problem!"

I don't have an issue with criticism. I have an issue with how it's carried out and I have a bigger issue with being lied to. Telling me to grow "thicker skin" doesn't mean anything. It's macho horse$hit talk for men with small units. I have two kids. I left them to go to MO and not potentially see them for 3-4 months. I already had "thick" skin. I dumped the last $4,000 of my bank account into a truck driving school. Totally no skin there.

I'm sure you're a good instructor. You already seem much more composed than mine was. Maybe your success is heavily due to the fact that unlike some others, you are able to criticize without being a monumental schmuck about it.

Yeah but, we are in the worst recession since the Great Depression. If companies can't start adding more reasons than that, they're either stupid or don't care. Prime should understand better than anyone, considering they only bus in 50 people a week.

EDIT: I should add, though, that I did meet some pretty cool people there, mostly other students and some of the drivers who were floating around. My roommate was awesome.

Meh, I'm going to let go anyway. It was a learning experience. I made the topic out of a slight frustration, and seeing how I can type to infinity, it's not that big of a deal when I make something long-winded like this.

Also, it wasn't anything personal with my instructor. It's just luck of the draw. His way didn't work, so I simply found another.

Plus, you seem far too intelligent to make it at Prime anyway...They want them all "young and dumb"...

Actually, they don't. Being a union guy, how would you know anyway?

IFM... now that you've gone and sunk $4k into a serious diploma mill license, did you ever bother to pull your DAC report to find out if you were employable - as I suggested to you last fall?

I'm not going to stress something like that. If for some reason it comes up, I'll deal with it the best I can.

And don't crack on the diploma, dude. Seeing how it's from one of the worst states to drive in, it's sort of an accomplishment. Not to mention that $4,000 bought, you know, actual instruction.

check my stats, I have not been here in months. Don't really care for it.

So just who do you drive for if any if you do? Is it that much better, please tell me. Maybe I would leave my current position where I am making money.
This is why I dislike this site. Why bash Prime? I agree that there are probablly better outfits out there but, PRIME has done right by me. Have I been screwed over, sure. If you are looking for a pristien, no problem, short pay, no pay job, injustice by DOT, local law enforcement, truck breakdowns then, just maybe you might want to look for a different carrer.

    I'M JUST SAYIN'
