Sorry, but that doesn't sound much different than running around any port city...I've grown to despise many container pullers at sight, which I hate, but I have....

Believe it or not, the same thing happens in Canada with American trucks.

Receiver had 7 trucks waiting in very limited space to be loaded. As I was delivering, they took me right in and told me to back into dock 18. Because of the limited space, there was a Marten truck parked blocking door 18. I politely knocked on his truck and explained to him that I needed to back into dock 18 and asked if he could pull forward so that I could get in there.
To make a long story short...after trying to explain this to him for close to 10 minutes, he backed HIMSELF into dock 18. I went inside and explained the situation to the receiver and got them to assign me another dock. THEN the Marten driver, when he figures out that they are not going to load him yet, comes over screaming at ME for "lying" to him.
I won't go into detail on what I said to him...but it was a very caustic critique of his utter lack of any grasp of the English language.
I had five drivers applauding when I finished. The sixth didn't speak any English either and stayed in his truck with a confused look on his face.

Btw...Do Canadian drivers get fuel subsidized like the Mexican drivers?
Just curious....Diesel will soon be $5/G and higher.........Shippers aren't about to pay more than $2.50/m even if diesel goes to $10/G......Roadmedic Thanks this. -

Promises to be interesting on the shipping comment.
They have problems with enforcement up there on the cabotage as well. Not just a problem down here. Kind of been an older problem than just the recent administration and clowns in washington.
Before long, cabotage will no longer be a problem, since the corporate owners will see a way to have "guest" workers as one poster stated. These new employees will be a boon to the annual bonus structure for the CEO and their exceptional planning. -
