Sounds like an under-capitalized upstsart trying to get operations going on the backs of others. Someone else with limited resources who will probably disappear at the first sign of trouble. (IRS likely). No wonder freight rates and driver pay isn't going up. But I'm curious, so could you share who this is and possibly save others some grief?

I agree....it looks like that's another one of those companies wbo make their $ by scamming drivers who aren't familiar with their scheme. Just as soon as one of their victims gets tired of getting screwed and leaves, there are 3 more people in line waiting to fill his position. I'm fairly new to the industry, but I've researched a LOT of different outfits, and companies such as the one you described are in no short supply. I would highly suggest signing on with a legitimate company that hires new drivers such as Roehl Transport or Schneider National until you become a little more familiar with the turf. I drive for Roehl, and I'm rather content driving for them in this stage of my career. Maverick is another good one to start out with if you want to pull flatbed or reefer.

you'd be better off buying your own truck, and leasing on with him. i bet then he wont have work for ya.

I just heard about this type of running about 6 months ago.
They won't last long esp when more than one of the drivers turn them in to the IRS etc.
I would try to feed my kids but also apply elsewhere.
