For me, being in the truck and driving is like a drug, it just gets my adrenaline pumping and it doesn't stop until I park...I also like to think that if I'm going to be away from my wife and home, I should maximize my time...

First time in a truck was maybe 45 minutes, Cabovers didn't have a lot of head room.....OH you mean driving?
Ok, From Mableton GA to, Gainesville,ga drop, Helen, Ga, drop, Blairsville, Ga 2 drops and found a place to park in Murphy NC 14 hours later back in 1975! The old 8/10 HOS!
All 2 lane roads and mountain driving and never drove anything but military trucks from jeeps to the AM General Tri Axle before then except for a few miles with the guy who signed my whatever form number it was I needed to get my Chauffeurs license!! What's a driving school back then? All you needed was a freind with a truck! -
Now there a place that I have stopped at a lot. it was my first stop after I loaded in Jacksonville. it is gone now.'olhand Thanks this.

About 2-3 hours. From Alsask, SK to Brooks, AB.

8 hours, I think. From Lakeland, FL to Panama City then up to Dothan AL delivering school lockers.

Transfer driving is different than OTR driving, but 12.5 hours on my first day. 7 dumps.

My first solo run after kicking the trainer out of my life was on a Tuesday. Omaha, NE to Ft. Worth Tx. Drove 9.5 hrs. After getting loaded it snowed through KS and OK, naturally, and my first day out I did not wanna drive at night in a white out...
