He is right it was 86 pull ups, I was there and counted also. It was ridiculous how long it took for that driver to get into that spot.

Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see what was going on! I was pulled out of shop status on Wednesday because a load had to be delivered and no other driver was available. We definately need new trucks and more drivers. There were 6 outside carriers at the terminal bringing in freight on Wednesday when I was there too! Spoke with Gary and he asked me to run it and said that they would fix it when I get back in this week. (Only have heat in the sleeper and my vents are blowing cold air up front) I was offered a loner as well. I ran it anyway to get home for the weekend and got an extra day off at home and will be heading back to Enfield and the terminal by Tuesday to get it fixed. I've seen the Volvo's as well as the T700's that are over there now. My truck is a P&P freightliner that has lower miles in the fleet, so it will be mine for awhile. I did find out that if we even need to replace a mudflap it will come out of our yearly bonus (common knowledge with the veteran's at NCT I'm sure!). Someone also said that any new trucks purchased will be 10 speeds, because there has been alot of mechanical issues with the automatics as they get older. And those super singles on snow and ice! (oh what fun!) As far as 86 pull ups? Maybe that driver was sick or something eh? (I don't know)

Hey everyone. I see this thread has died down so thought I would just put in my own update. Been here 4 months and so far, for the most part, this is a good company. The maintenance could definitely be better and have found two dispatchers that I don't care for at all. I won't mention the names but it seems I don't have to... pretty much the other drivers here don't care for them either! Been averaging 2500-2650 miles a week, even a couple in the mid 3's. Money is good, but you will definitely earn your paycheck here

Sitting at the house on hometime thought I would give some thoughts, after 9 months here I personally would not recommend coming here to anyone. The money I have made here has been the best I have ever made in my trucking career but after awhile the other problems here just dont make the money enough to put up with the other BS that goes on here.Maintenance here is a MAJOR problem,I have probably lost several weeks of earnings because of breakdowns, just getting a PM done at the shop will probably cost you 24 hrs if your lucky.Even worse is Dispatch seperate from the JERSEY attitude that is a constant here are the places they will send you with 70+ feet of truck and trailer I have delivered to peoples homes, golf courses and alleyways in Chicago,I have done more blind side backing here than the rest of my trucking career combined, and lastly they will send you out with a stack of bills that half will require appointments and they will not have made them or the time difference between your first and last appointment will be spread out so much their is no way you can make the last legally, but your expected to log legal.I really care about my job and the way I perform it if your that way then think long and hard before you come here.

nevermind I found the info I was looking for.... -
Mushroom sorry to hear it's turned bad. But you've given it some time at New Century as well. I will give it some time as well before I know for sure if this was a good decision. I agree with you on the maintenance.... you're better off getting things like a service on the road than at Westampton. I delivered in Pittsburgh and the suburbs. Some of those places they send you too, you really have no business being there in such a long semi. But as they probably seeing it: they don't have to do it so no skin off their back.

Everything you say is true. We deliver to the craziest places, do a lot of blindsides and are asked to perform impossible feats that would never be legally logged. I have been here two months less than you have and have learned to tell them no. If I can't make it, I tell them as soon as I realize it. Either I sit on it 'til the next day or they switch me out with someone else. I have felt forced to run some loads too and have been frustrated sometimes, so I totally get where you're coming from. The shop in Westampton has been an issue for me too. I try to go to Willingburo most of the time and other drivers use Delanco. Good luck either way mushroom.
