Thanks Injun! I was going to pick me up one as soon as I stopped at a truck stop but I stopped at the Winstar Casino in Oklahoma. I was only going to go in there for a few hours but ended up staying in there all night long!!

I was winning then I lost $300 by the time I walked out the door at 8:30 in the morning. Went out and slept until 4PM and then went 70 miles up the road and delivered the load.

Then I get a pre-plan picking up near Tulsa and going to Georgia. Yea another good week on miles. Will be over 3000 with this load. Only one issue I thought I was going to be picking up 11 hours at midnight but I have a zero going off.

So I had just enough hours to run up and pick the load up and I have to take a 34 in a Walmart parking lot. I should have just done it at the Casino but oh hell I would have spent a fortune knowing that right inside those doors is hours and hours of fun!:biggrin_25523:

So it's cheaper for me to stay here where I am at and do a little shopping in the morning.. Everything is going just fine and I am on my third week solo. Man does time fly by!

I think I will just bypass the Casino's for awhile I only planned to spend about $50. So far everything is positive here at Swift except for that little load to NYC that they where a little rude about.

    Traveler58 and Injun Thank this.

Sounds like you got off to a good start with swift--keep it up! Those casino's know how to lure you in--just remember--everything that glitters is not gold! LOL I bet you will know next time when you are up--hit the exit!

As far as NYC---i try to stay away from that place! People are kinda different up there and the traffic sucks!

    Good luck! :biggrin_25525:

The best way to hold on to your cash in the casinos is to not go into them in the first place. The glamour, the glitz, the allure of hitting the big one...IT'S A TRAP!

Go to the buffet if you must, but avoid the games.

Good for you bluebonn. I'm just finishing my third week out but screwed up, tried to get cute and squeeze in a 34 which I did but at the cost of having to do a 22 and tell them id be a few hours late on this load, had no room for any delays and sure enough got blocked in a truck stop for a few hours which cost me. Don't know what happens now but I'm kicking myself.

Yea AZS it happens. This load I am on currently I accepted and have just enough time to get it there after doing my 34. Not much time but to stop and use the bathroom real quick and so on.

I will be rolling out at noon tomorrow with a fresh start. I made a mistake and entered another Casino. Used $20 and won over $250. Was going to walk out when I got that high but just could not. That slot machine was way addictive and took my money back.

I think I am going to just plan on doing this maybe once a year. It was great entertainment for $20 plus all the free pepsi I could drink.:yes2557:

No worries. He's on the radar screen.

I went in the casino earlier. For some green chili stew....yum!

Friend of mine said toss in 20 for him. So, on my way out, dropped 20 in a quarter machine and played it for a while, cashed it out for 20 and moved on to a different quarter machine. Played it for a while off a 20, too. Couldn't really win big, but couldn't lose either. Finally got bored with the whole thing and cashed it out for 21.75. Gave the 1.75 to the cashier and walked out even, only paying for my lunch.

Well today and last night was a little pain in the %#$##$. First I pull into a Flying J so I can do some laundry and the attendant there failed to tell me that all the dryers where not working after I done got my wash started.

No signs on the dryers she just came around and said sorry the dryers are not working. I said well what am I suppose to do now? She said about 2 miles down the road there is a Laundromat. I said cool they got truck parking?

She said no but exercise is good for truck drivers. I said hell know I am not walking 2 miles in the cold and strong winds after I just stuck my only jacket in the wash. Plus I had to get a clear trash bag to put all my wet clothes in until I figure something out.

Well I had to put them in the truck until the next morning. The next day I get up and go to start the truck and it won't start! So I go to call on road and I have no cell signal in the truck stop. I reach down for the qualcomm and again I have no signal and can't move.

Now what the heck am I gonna do as I have to be out of here by 12PM to make this load on time. I go in and look for a pay phone and there is only one pay phone for the whole place. A guy was on it for like ever!

So I patiently wait until my turn and get up there and dial the number to on road and the stupid phone asks me to put in a $1. So I did and then it comes back and tells me number not in service. Tried a second time and the same thing.

Tried to call my DM and the #### phone said the same thing. Great now what the hell am I suppose to do now that my truck is broke down where nothing works. So I went into the driver lounge and explained to other drivers my issue and not one of them would even offer for me to use their cell phone.

They basically asked who you work for and I would say Swift and that would be the end of the conversation. So I went up to the counter and explained to the lady what trouble I was in and she offered to let me use her cell phone.

Finally!!! Not yet have to wait on hold forever and then finally get then to send someone out. I guy pulls up and spent two hours trying to get a good connection so he could charge the batteries. I personally believe he did not know what he was doing. This happened at the Columbus terminal and it took a total of 15 minutes to get me rolling.

So I finally get rolling and get near my 11 again. This time started looking for a place to park one hour before my 11 was up. Not one spot on 78 could I find a place except at the end near Birmingham in a closed down Win Dixie parking lot. Hopefully I can get some sleep and don't get run out of here by the cops.

I cannot drive anymore my time is up. Everything still going great and still loving working at SWift.

    Take care all!

Not turning the truck off tonight. Gonna deliver this load on time and then head on over to Atlanta to get the batteries replaced.

If you have a Volvo there should be a low voltage alarm. Next time you are in a terminal get an electrical system check.

Freighties have them too. Will shut down your lights etc. Make sure you document why you are idling on the Qualcom!
