My hubby made good money working for them. He was home every weekend, and usually on Wednesday nights... the ONLY reason he gave up COTC was because we needed him home EVERY NIGHT. That's the absolute ONLY reason.

If your not getting the miles at .32 and a half cents a mile it's a short check, 20 months 48 and Canada, target was 11,000 a month, hit it 3 times in that time frame.
4 to 5 weeks out, $150 draws a week to live off of. Made take home checks roughly 762 for two weeks work (often). Regardless of your exp, thats what everyone hired at. -
Since they cotc lovers are dodging the pay question like a well trained recruiter. You will not make that kind of money. I asked point blank before I hired on if their website claim of 50k a year was realistic and I was told yes it is. After one full year it was not true. Didn't break 40k and had to cheat the log to do that. Most of the rest about them is true. Just not the pay. They don't have the freight and they made some bad investments a few years ago that is still haunting them. They used to be somewhat open about that during orientation. They need to be honest about the pay. People make decisions about their families based on what they are told they will earn at a job. I may have still gone to work for cotc if they had been honest about the wages but certainly would have moved my family into a cheaper rental house. Now I fell into a job that really will pay 50k and I am only out 4 to 5 days a week. if the pay would have been right I may have stayed. I didn't mind the work.

well sorry you had problems with them. NO company is perfect for everyone and all co have issues. As for as the pay' i can not speak to what the co says. can only real to my pay. after three years i was making .35 a mile and my monthly avg was between 10k and 11k my last three years my gross income was 48.,536 for 2010. So all and all they where a good company for me at least. i had to step down from my driving job there cause of health problems and very happy i found a good local job that i an home every day.

Did your hubby work maxi side if he was home so much? They used to do real well before the economy took a dump and then took a huge pay cut on top of that.. They went from 60 to 70k down to 30 to 40k in one year.
Tagmwar your milage pay was higher than what they pay most drivers, 31 to 33cpm is where they payed semi drivers at. They did have a handful of drivers they made special deals with and who they took care of. You must have been one of them. As trucking company's go they are a tolerable place to work if you need a job. I'll give them that much. But drivers should know what they are getting into before they higher on. They are still lying to drivers about the pay. For 150 truck company in a bad economy they shouldn't have such high turnover. And they will screw a driver on their DAC and I have heard from a few drivers about winning their unemployment hearings because COTC lied about the reasons they were fired.
The only problem I had personally was being lied to about the wages and I feel drivers should know what they are getting into before they go to work for them. In return I am helping to lower COTC's turnover rate by helping them truthfully inform drivers thus keeping the expectations of new hires low and they won't quit right away. They should thank me.GuysLady Thanks this. -
