The North Carolina State Bar charged the Durham County district attorney with several violations of the state's rules of professional conduct, all tied to his handling of the lacrosse case.

I would like to see this guy lose everything he has.
It would be nice if these charges included jail time, but they dont. He should go to jail for the same amount of time he was going to send these kids to jail. If I was prosecuted by Nifong on any kind of related charge I would appeal it. Lord knows how many times he has done this kind of thing.

How do you feel about the woman that brought the false accusations in the first place?
-
I think she should also get something out of this. The media seems to have dropped that part of the story. She probably didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but Nifong ran with it.
This is what I think happened:
I think the duke players did say some racial things to the strippers, probably because they were drunk. This angered them so they called the police. When the police arrived the accuser was passed out drunk at a gas station, to make it where she wasn't going to get in trouble she added the rape story, now she's a victim, not a drunk stripper. Then Nifong made it a political football. -
I agree 100%!!!
It also makes you wonder how many other innocent people this ##shole has put in jail. I mean it's not like this was an upstanding woman with a little self respect and dignity. She knew exactly what she was getting into. Besides, was't she hired as a stripper for one of their parties. Come on, who in the hell is she fooling? I for one say they both ought to be locked away.

I can't believe the fact that this wasn't the first time that woman had made false accusations. When are they going to make falsely accusing someone punishable under the law? I know there was a lot of talk about rape shield laws. IMO there is no justice after they said they were not going to press charges on this proven false accuser.
Nifong got re-elected on the backs of an outraged minority community that he was supposedly championing. He deserves everything he gets, the man is scum. I hope there is a section dedicated to him in every ethics text book from now on.

I forgot about that. She had done this before, so she knew it worked. If Nifong would have done just a little investigating into this, I would think none of this would have happened. He was to eager to get this story out there before the election.
I beleive a lot of innocent people go to jail because of overzealous prosecutors. Prosecutors and police can bias evidence anyway they want, and they do. There's nothing, esspecially someone that's to poor to defend themselves, can do. Luckly in this case Nifong was messing with some upper middle class kids that could protect themselves with good lawyers. -
The common man would have been behind bars.......end of story.
-
They do have laws for that, defamation of character. Unfortunately it's a civil case and not punishable by jail, only monitary recovery. If I'm not mistaken one of the boys said the lawyer advised them a civil suit against a stripper wasn't worth it, after all what could they get from her. Women like her give our gender a slap in the face. Gees, I wish I could slap her in the face. No, I forgot, #### splatters and I'm not much on fecalfilia.

Funny you mention that, because at the press conference one of the young men stated exactly that. What about the average person who can't afford legal representation, if they will railroad people such as ourselves, what would they do to the average individual?
