You get dispatched to pu a load that is 2 hours away from your present location. You arrive and you have 8 hours left on the clock.
It takes 2 hours to load and now you have 6 hours left on the clock. The delivery is 10 hours away and you will have to take your 10 hour break b4 you get there.
You tell dispatch you cant be there at the delivery time and let them decide what to do with the load.
Your running your log legal, unless you have a qualcom or black box that tracks your every movement for record.
When the loads start backing up on the board and not gettin delivered on their time schedule but yours,, I think things will start to change.
Running legal, you have the law on your side and I dont think any company, even swift would want to answer to the dot why you where forced to violate your hos.
Strikes, slowdowns, et al are not needed,

Just do it by the book and dont violate your hos because they say its got to be done or else.

Or else what.??? drop a dime to the dot. stop at a weigh station, tell someone what the companies are trying to force you to do.

Have them inspect the truck, who knows maybe youll be put out of service. Or show them your log and have them put you out of service.

Its better for your dac report if you do it legal and can prove it.
