Ya...sure....all that from a "light load" member. I usually let this garbage about "grow a set" go,but, I see there's not a lot of respect on this forum, so I'll go ahead and give you my 2 cents. So about your "grow a set". Friend, you don't know who, or even what the hell you are talking about. And as for your "nobody makes me do nothing"...ya...I'm sure of it. Let's see you try to pay house taxes, utility bills, insurances and put food on the table AND maintain your own rig and pay for all it's breakdowns that cost money out on the road, PLUS have to eat out every night which ain't cheap. Do all that then come back to me and spew all that garbage about "nobody makes me do nothin". Somehow I don't believe you have any real bills to pay. Because if you did I don't believe you would be spirting off that garbage. And as far as your "stand up and don't let somebody scair you into something" goes...buddy you don't know me. You have no idea what I am like. There's not a stitch of what I call "cell door worrier" mantallity in me. I had to do 10 years flat in a state pen for a charge I never did. Do you have ANY idea how that feels...to be IN a state pen for a crime that you and the lord both know you didn't do? I have had to fist fight people, get my teeth knocked out after they ganged up on me and all this because I didn't want to let them steal my radio and tennis shoes. I have had to deal with grown men hating me just because I am white...AND had to work right next to them! I have seen people get the hell litteraly stomped out of them by 5 or 6 dudes all because they wanted to get into thier gang. This while yet orthers just get beat to dead for what ever reason it was. So don't go tellin me anything about "stand up for yourself and not let somebody scare you into something". Buddy I DO stand up for myself, and I DON'T let ANY scumbag scair me into anything! As life goes, you have to make decisions and or compremise so as to substain...or not! I made the decisions I made at the time so I could keep a job and not take a chance on losing everything I own now because I wouldn't have had a job to make money and to pay for the things as needed to pay for. All that crud about "nobody makes me do nothin"...welll you can keep that spew. Granted you have rights as a trucker and you have the choice of doing what you are told or go look for another job. I just hope you have enough money saved up to pay for everything that needs to be paid for before you go off acting like a know it all and quit that job. In my instance, I didn't have enough saved up yet to quit that job. AND I didn't want to lose everything I had worked so hard for in life, AND let down (hard) the people in my life that love me and depend on me. Do YOU have somebody in YOUR life that depends on you? Well think about THAT next time before you get intop a compromising position with YOUR boss and he wants you to do something you know is wrong. We do what we have to do to survive....buddy. Now...I have gave my 2 cents...and I have a set and they are grown and swinging just fine. So how about you growning a few gray hairs for me and quit with the he man know it all stuff and show some respect young man.
To everyone else, I have gotten out of trucking, I have found a REALLY great job, I only work 7 & 1/2 hours a day and get paid almost twice as much as I was making trucking, and the job is only 10 miles from my house so I get there quick, I get a whole hour for lunch, I get TWO whole days off a week, AND as a bonus I get to use the equipment FOR FREE when I need it. So if I get it free then that means all my friends and relatives get it free too.Life is good. Money rollin in, get to be home everynight with my family and also see my kinfolk everyday. What else could someone ask for?
Boss forced logbook voilations, then fired me.

All of the "perfect people" on this site bother me more than anything. Yes there are a lot of helpful, interesting people but there are also people who think they have never done anything wrong in their entire lives. Things happen and you make mistakes. He did not do anything that was unsafe to himself or others on the road.
It also bothers me when people say "quit, trucking is not for you." I dont know where a lot of you work but it seems like EVERY SINGLE COMPANY out there is a CDL Mill and they are 'supertruckers' and they have bad drivers, and theyre bottomfeeders, and they cant do anything right. I dont think I can name off one company people actually like.
He did what he had to do at the time. He got canned over it but he is doing fine now. It just bothers me when everybody bashes someone for a mistake. I have less respect for people who get DUI's and do drugs. This is an innocent mistake. Those others are at the wheel of vehicles on public roads with families, whether they are in a big truck or a 4 wheeler, they are endangering others. Its not as simple as a stupid piece of paper.roaddawgdriver Thanks this. -
Kidnap his children and hold them hostage for your final pay. You should have no problem doing this because you had no trouble breaking the law before.
Short of that, take your lumps and move on. -
no labor board will help him...they pretty much will only enforce the minimum wage act. small claims court is where he needs to go
what she said....
correct.....small claims court, not the labor board.
well given the statistics, many noobs do not make it past 1 to 3 years and you proved that....you are among the weak....
you were at fault, 1000% percent. also you HAD TO KNOW the lifestyle of a trucker, or were you that naive....??? after being in the business for 2 years..????
i do not feel sorry for you, neither does anyone else...you chose trucking, you knew ahead of time all there was to know about the industry.....you still wanted to be a trucker....
good luck to you, i hope your new employer teaches you the right way to say, "you wanna super-size that"...??? -
I wasn't asking you to feel sorry for me....don't be a dimwit. I was however asking for some understanding. And as far as me haven gotten into "trucking"....I didn't get into "trucking" I got into car hauling. I feel there is a differance because you actually have to do some work once in a while.
I might ad...your picture "of you" of a baby smoking tells me alot about your character. And your signature at the bottom leaves a lot to be desired.
" good luck to you, i hope your new employer teaches you the right way to say, "you wanna super-size that"...???"....not a chance Mr. ... that must be some more of your intelect. -
so this was a decent thread, but it's falling apart. Really you shouldn't let someone force you to do something. I get that you have bills to pay, harder to do that without a job or when you get citations. Everyone always says quit if they make you run illegal (myself included) but really you should start looking for something else if your company is asking/telling you to do something that is in violation of the Federal Regs.
Oh and on a side note, don't come to a truckers blog (or any other for that matter) expecting people to agree with you. From the safety of your computer it is much easier to tell someone what a bonehead they were for whatever action they just wrote about. Best of luck to you in your future.jeddomike Thanks this. -
yes, all the convicts never did the crime...hey dont let the door hit you on the way out...another one bits the dust..i bet you are innocent in everything!!! I see in reason why i need to respect you and your bad decisions in life.....Rerun8963 Thanks this.

*sets up a lawn chair and gets the popcorn* -
Just wondering? While I sit here laughin my ### off at this great entertainment--ok I amuse easy! This while light load etc? I thought it had to do with how long you have been following this web site? Not experience--because not to be vain about it--if the description is about experience--then I would say there are really only a handful of us on here that could be described as truley HEAVY LOADS--I see years of experience listed on right side of posting--so which is it
and remember just cause Im old doesn't mean I know anything anyway!USMC379 PETE Thanks this. -
The 'Light Load', 'Medium Load' does have to do with how many posts you have made on the forum, not with your personal driving experience.USMC379 PETE Thanks this.
