No worse shape? The dark side of the moon is in better shape than the dive under the apartments!
I don't think that folks should speed, and most of the time y'all are telling me what the speed limit IS on the CB - you know how that goes. But the way things are TODAY through that stretch of road - you are totally liable to be rear ended if you're going that slow through the area around exit 14 - or a collision could be caused by vehicles changing lanes through there to avoid you. -
Exactly.. This is the part I was talking about. The driver obeying the laws is NOT the road hazard. It is the driver(s) that are breaking the laws that is(are) the hazard. IMNTBHO, anyone who justifies breaking the law to prevent being rear-ended by some fool who is in too big of a hurry or just wishes to break the law, is no less guilty than the other speeders. Get a speeding ticket and go to court and tell the judge that everyone else was speeding and you were worried about being rear-ended so you had to speed too. I bet it will not fly. Remember Mama's old saying. If everyone else jumps off a bridge, does that mean you should too?
Also, on this stretch of road, I am quite honestly too busy watching the idiots cut in front and stop to get their exit, or other general weaving to concentrate on keeping track of some speeder behind me. I watch behind when I can but my main focus is in front of me and what I may hit.
Yes, I have been rear-ended a few times in a truck and even sideswiped a couple of times. Once even a hit and run T-bone in a brand new Classic XL on it's virgin trip. All different circumstances, fortunately no fatalities, but in no case was it chargeable to me, by either LE or the companies.
They just called me to load.. see ya l8rend of the road and flood Thank this. -
I guess we will have to agree to disagree--and the dive under the apartments--as you call it--is a #### site better today then it was a couple of years ago since the last resurfacing--now the divider sections on the Tappan Zee and ruts--on 287 north of it--that's another story--stay safe

I Agree!!!!

well bein govn at 62 that alone would put me to sleep.
Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
Well you need to learn how to be a real truck driver then. That is about the dumbest things I have ever heard a truck driver say. And that is saying allot.
-
Well I don't know any specifics about the crash or the bus. My guess is it has a black box, which if so, will be downloaded and the investigators will know a lot of information, especially what the bus was doing prior to the crash. Information such as RPM's, speed, whether the brakes were applied, all kinds of information that will either confirm or deny the driver's story. Let the investigation conclude and then make your assessment.
outerspacehillbilly and truckerdave1970 Thank this. -
no, it ain't screwed up, it the way it is....too bad for the ex-con, if they could not live a law abiding life and went to jail, they do not deserve a second chance, especially such a thug as this one was.
thank you
i don't care how YOU or ANYONE ELSE took what i said.....a thug is a thug, and an ex-con is an ex-con...neither deserve a "so called second chance" in this industry, and by the way, how many "second chances has THAT thug gotten..???
thank you
thank you
