Got a message over the QC this morning "Pls call _____ at ___-___-____ about joining the mentor program."
So I called to be polite, and was informed that I was recommended by my driver manager and fleet manager, and that was something I should be proud of since Swift has a hard time finding drivers who are qualified from a safety standpoint, and a performance standpoint, and a personality standpoint to be mentors. And he asked that I give it some thought, and if I ever change my mind, by all means let them know.
He actually didn't pressure me in any way, just wanted me to know I was certainly qualified and would be welcomed if I chose to take that path.
Heeeeyyyyyy!!! Green Light!I'm oughta here!
It finally happened

congratulations on the promotion(?) offer.walstib Thanks this. -
1nonly, seems like lady trainers would be worth their weight in gold to Swift. But I'll bet they don't see it that way. How much would your income increase?
-
Hey! Congratulations!
Sounds like some great news and a great opportunity. -
some girls don't like guys like me....ahh...but some girls do.. -
I wouldnt mind being a trainer as long as it was for a company that doesnt allow team training. As long as the truck doesnt move while im sleeping I'd enjoy teaching someone. But most companies dont train like that...

Its nice that you are recognized for doing a very good job. Maybe its worth considering.... a persons life affected by mentor/teacher is often profound and never forgotten. Good for you, I hope you try it. -
There's no way I'd be a trainer. I knew too many that been killed while sleeping.
I had a female trainer and she was a good one too. Before you say anything, she was old enough to be my grandma! -
Have any trainers had students who can't step up to the top bunk when parked? I was thinking about that the other day. I think that would be one of the first things I would want to know as a trainer, "Hey you can you get up there".

I'm not surprised they'd want you to mentor. I'm sure you'd be a very good one. Congrats on the offer. Congrats on the green light.JustSonny Thanks this.
