I guess I should also say I asked this question before I found out you don't have to drive the full 11 hours each day. Now that I know you don't have to drive those full hours every day, it makes more sense now.

Exactly - you get your dispatch. calculate your miles, add a few for the "unknowns", then calculate time. Compare that time to the actual time you have until delivery, subtract your 10 hour breaks, also figure when you WANT to run... example - you may be legal to run at 0200, surely doesn't mean you HAVE to...

Then take a look at where you think you'd like to stop, if you prefer bigger truckstops, or out-of-the-way places...

    Pickin' on us Canucks again.

If you are close to where you want to be and are only over a bit and there is no scale between you and there just go to where you need and make the book look good.

This is assuming you are not doing the head bobs and can get to where you want to be safely.

Despite what some say I don't think it is so black and white. You need to plan, yes, but you also need to be able to think on your feet so to speak and make good decisions. If the option is run over 30 minutes or waste an hour of driving I will always go 30 minutes over.

Not? Great answer, if you're stuck on Saturday Night Live skits from 20 years ago.

I'm not picking on Canucks at all! Just explaining tis better to do things like this out of sight--and not to pull over(where you might be seen)
Just consider a friendly public service announcement--from the lower 48 LOL:biggrin_25514:
