I'm not sure what that means. Trainer just said, "Can't have CDL while riding w/Chris, to wait to take the test" Have U heard anything like that? Doesn't quite make sense to me. Maybe it's so we won't be practicing in the truck.

Why shouldn't or couldn't you have your class A while being a rider? There is no law against that. Now, from a practical point of view, if you want to get your license, you don't want to get it, and then not use it, since it kind of goes "stale" from the insurance companies point of view. And you would possibly have to be retrained after x amount of weeks.

I have had my license for almost 11 years. While my husband was alive, I did not always work, and when I didn't I would catch a ride every now and again with him. Got too bored sitting at home all the time.

I don't think your husbands trainer knows what he is talking about. Or maybe we are all misunderstanding. Either way, hope it all works out for you.

No. I got to spend time with him for almost a week when he was getting work done in the shop, but he's gone again (for now).

That's the oddest thing that your husband's trainer is telling him. Maybe he just means the company wouldn't let you practice with him, with him being so new, so you'd get no practice in? Dunno.

I have no clue what this trainer is referring too. I'm going to post the question on the May Trucking forum and see what responses I get! Once I get feed back I'll post it here.

Thnx Sabine in Mo for your feedback, and I hope you will subscribe to my blogs and follow along w/us on our journey!

I pray you get to hook up w/your hubby soon. And that you pass all your tests with 'flying-colors' :)

I know that's odd what the trainer is saying. I'm going to post the question on May Trucking forum and see what feed back I get. When I do I'll updated here.

Unless you are hired by the company, I don't think there are many employers willing to let you practice driving their equipment. Mainly for insurance reasons, since without a license, or even with one they have to approve you driving the truck.

But then again, there is no law that says you can't be a rider with a CDL, so who knows.

Let us know what he is trying to say, I am really curious to find out what the deal is with May. I will check out your journey, when I am at home, don't have internet in truck, too cheap to buy air card, too little time, since I love playing on the dang thing. And the dog needs to be entertained all the time.

Sunday will be two weeks out for Chris. He hasn't had any internet except one night at Bossleman.

His trainer has the new Pete 587, it's been in the shop three days so far, it will be in the shop tomorrow and if they don't get it finished they will have to wait until Monday and possibly Tues to finish. So needless to say Chris is learning the sitting and waiting part of trucking:biggrin_2556: He doesn't like it, but knows, it's all part of being a driver.

Chris might be at Payette Monday or Tuesday. He says he should be done w/training by the end of the month. Then is when I will find out if I can go out w/him or if he will have to team up w/another driver, we'll see!

    Trilleth Thanks this.

Well, Chris' trainer is letting Chris go solo.

    Yep,it's about that time!

When speaking with Chris last night he was in Yakima WA and was going to drop a load, at 7am this morning, in Selah WA, which is a county in Yakima. Then they are going to try and get a load to Brooks, then hopefully this will be it.

He can see light at the end of the tunnel.
As always, I will keep the blog updated!!

Chris got his solo orders!! YEA!
We will be heading out on the Road on Tuesday for our first load.

    He was issued a 2009 model "Peter-Built 387".
The truck doesn't have an inverter on it, but the company has them ordered, so we will have to have it installed in route.

We will take, the remaining of this week, and pack up and store the rest of our belongings and get what we need for the truck.

    Wow, it's really happening.
Our lives are about to change forever!:Trailer:
