Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.
-
Close, Tukwila. Not sure where yet, it is just a pre-assign
-
I didn't see much of the terminal.....went in, grabbed a shower, went to truck, went to sleep....LOL......all I know is that there is only ONE bathroom/shower for the ladies...just like at Markham.............I much prefer Springfield because it has separate toilets and showers....at least 3 of each!!!!!!!!!!!
I left this morning for near Allentown, then picked up in New Jersey just across the river from Philly, then had to get out of there and out of Philly during rush hour..............YIKES!!!! Am currently sitting in the Home Depot parking lot on 30 near Sadsburysville, PA...had 19 minutes left on my 14. -
I see some people need to have all the details. I said in my post that I gave limited details here.
it's your fault if you LET then send you the wrong way
Ever heard of forced dispatch for company drivers? Plus I reminded them of the Dr. appts they assured me that they "had it covered and would take care of you". Now let me explain more about the rest of the story.
12/24 08:45 Loaded from Aspers, Pa to Tomah, Wi.
12/25 22:00 Got a call that my 99 year old mother was in hospital in Peoria, IL.
12/25 10:00 Talked to Mom she was weak but alert. Informed FM I would like to go to Peoria and see her.
16:00 Delivered Tomah No loads to Peoria
12/26 09:45 Moved to Hudson, WI. for Possible load South, Load cancelled.
14:00 Laoded Eagan, MN. to Appleton, MN.
19:00 Delivered Appleton
12/27 15:30 Loaded from Inver Grove Heights, MN. to Billings, MT
12/28 Afternoon sometime Reminded FM of my Dr Appts in TN on 1/4 and my Mom in hospital . He said they "had it covered and would take care of you".
12/29 08:30 Delivered Billings reminded them about my Mother No load yet. Talked to my Niece that afternoon. She said Mom was tired but seemed to be doing well and was getting stronger.
12/30 06:00 Got the call from my brother that our Mother had passed away during the night. Said they could hold funeral for an extra day or 2 at most for me and my Sister(in Seattle) to make it if necessary.
08:00 Sent the message to dispatch about my Mom passing. Later called FM to see about getting me there.
12/31 1300 Finally moved me from Billing to Rapid City, SD for a "possible" load.
18:45 arrived Rapid City.
01/01 Moved to Mitchell, SD for load
01/02 11:15 Loaded Mitchell, SD to Rossville, TN. Called Dr and rescheduled all appointments for 3/21, was next available opening to meet the eye surgeon. Called Brother and he set funeral for 1/4. Called FM and told him of funeral and asked for RP in Peoria.
01/03 00:30 Arrived Peoria. No word yet on RP. Contacted night dispatch. They said they knew nothing about it.
10:00 finally got RP info.
12:15 RP truck arrived.
Is this enough detail for you? They had ample time to get me a load home for my Dr appt. They knew they were sending me the wrong way before a holiday when freight would most likely be down. Not only that but no help to get me to my Mother's bedside or funeral Which would have been right on route and my Mom could have been buried 2 days earlier as my Sister Decided not to make the trip because of weather issues. But they left me stranded in MT for 2 days. I could have made both if they had planned better. Tell me again how good this company is. Tell me that this, along with the money issues, would not upset you.
they did sorry
That is their story but the posters in the terminal were never taken down and were still up three months later advertising the sign on bonus. There response to that? OH we better get them down then. In other words. we screwed you out of $750 that you were promised.
you knew when you started the lease that you are not paid mt miles and not paid for scale tickets so why are you even bringing it up....? Now show your ignorance on this. Lease drivers are paid dispatch miles including mt miles. but they did not pay the miles back to weigh the load. That should have been done by the company driver that picked up the load. When I need empty and loaded weights I get them when I pick up not when I drop. That is the responsibility of the driver loading it. If I had known before, I would have refused the load. mt and loaded weights are for billing purposes and should be the responsibility and expense of the company. not the driver who does not get paid by the weight.
of corse you lose the p/p if you del the rp after the del time.......Here you go again .. I delivered on time, that was the reason for the RP. to insure on time del. The ppln,, if it existed, was canceled before I even got half way to the del.
MAYBE just MAYBE you should learn to call the driver info line and then you would know why you are not getting that penny. they said what was up about that your just to lazy to call and find out
I call the driver infoline regularly. I especially like it when I get the message to call and they have not changed ot the last three messages. Oh I even called it when I was a lease driver and I did not receive the infoline messages. They stressed on the infoline that the only thing that would keep you from getting the 1 cent/mile back was a chargeable accident. I had none. I did not get the money. THEY LIED
see above
see above
now you KNOW you are not to pay them out of pocket, you are to call your fm and tell them how much you needed and wait for fuel to put it on your card so you can efs check it, if you didn't do it right how is it their fault....??
EFS? more ignorance coming through. We use transfunds not EFS.. and I called and they said it was being put on the card, THEY LIED AGAIN, so I paid the lumper because they needed me to get to my next pick up before they closed for the weekend.
did you have each store mark "driver unload".....? if not they DON'T have to pay it and you should know that, Yes I did. I even still have the BOL's to prove it.
btw i've done 3 stores in less than 14 hr's and was paid for the unloading
And I would consistently do 4 stores in 8 hours as a DG driver for JB Hunt. But I was dedicated to DG then and 8 years younger(52) I would unload a new store in 2 hours when the 10 people inside could keep up. I am a little slower now at 60 and the 104 degree heat made more of a difference especially since I have done no unloading since the DG account at JB.
well gee and with a massage like that i don't see why he didn't just pick up the phone and call...! with your attitude WHY do you think you didn't hear anything more as i said. It is the only message I ever got a reply to. and the reply was short but detailed as to the problem. and nice , i might add. It went ignored. as did all my nice messages prior to that. He only responded in the first place because of my attitude.
did you ever think that the reason for it is to help offset the overage on miles for the shorter runs..... did you ever think that my time driving is just as valuable on long runs as it is on short runs? More likely is the company decided that is was another way to screw the driver. When I first started I made 39 cpm for all miles. when I came back from lease it was this sliding scale.
did you send in ALL the receipts when you got the truck...? Yes. actually sent copies in 4 times in three months before I got paid. They should never have taken the advance out of my check in the first place since it was for company rental car and motel expenses. They had the receipts when I got to Colton and sent them in with the rental car return receipts BEFORE I got the paycheck with them deducted. It still took 3 months to get my money back.
YES YOU DO maybe you do but I have been told by FM's and a terminal mgr that they do not.
why should they pay you to sit around your house...? I am available but the truck is broke down because the mechanics don't know how to fix it. Not my fault that the 4 prior shops could not fix it or that they refused repeatedly my requests to reseat me stating that there were no unseated trucks available. Another lie.
well some one like YOU maybe, i have recommed usx for years (and always truthfull) and have never given anyone the info so i could get the referral bonus, i don't need it and i don't do it for the money and i tell them that...! Sorry that you think that my expectation to be paid what I was promised for what I do is unfair. Everything I said here is the truth and can easily be proven.Since you want to comment on your perception of my character, no I will not go there.I will not stoop to your level.
BTW Spend some time at a terminal on breakdown sometime and talk to the drivers. You will find, as I have, that there are many more with complaints like mine that there are satisfied drivers like you. Maybe the few satisfied drivers like you have the only good FM in the company. Most drivers that have been there for a long time say the same thing. The last 2 years this company has gone to sh**.
Now is that enough explanation for you? -
ya i have heard of it and you know what i DON'T do nyc or anyware else i don't want to go. so if you let them send you the wrong way it's still YOUR fault
now as to dr. appts i have 4 a year and in all the time i have worked for usx i have only missed 1 and i got paid to sit home for 2 weeks until i could get in. that took 1 phone call to someone much higher than my fm.....
i have had to go to 3 funerals and had an uncle in ICU oh and do you remember that little tormado on feb 5 a few years ago...? and last year the house was hit by lightning and it has NEVER taken more than 30 hr's to get home
old army saying "did you get it in writing"
yes i know you got paid for all DISPATCHED miles but not extra UNLESS you was smart enought to make sure you would get paid for it BEFORE YOU did it....
if it canceled then it DID EXIST..... and gee you never ever had a p/p cancel before right..?
like i said maybe you should call it more then you would know that they changed it and tied it into the idle reduction quarterly prize give away
they DIDN'T LIE you just didn't call and find out the change
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fi206.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fbb139%2Ffwalton%2Fpaper%26%2337%3B20work%2Fefs2.jpg&hash=8c51ff78e923fdcdd04887f312d2bd40)
GEE look at that EFS right in the check and it is run BY EFS just like the old fuel card was. again you are NOT TO PAY out of pocket, you should have waited until you KNEW the money was on the card and them paid as you told to do it and if you are late picking up the load that is not your fault and more of a reason for them to get it done faster but you should have known that...
then all it would take is (at most) 2 phone calls to fix.
i have only had to deal with max one time. got a call 2 days later, tool him what happened, why it happened, how it happened and i had a check in the bank the next day....!
you knew it changed and you still came back....? if you sign up for the ride don't cry about it later
i had that happen 1 time but i didn't send mac7, i didn't mark the trip pak (yes we did trip pak back then) expense but i did sent in the receipt. took 1 call to fix.
maybe your fm needs to learn the rules then, i have have been paid... like when we were bd for 13 days (over 2 weekends) and for 15 days (again 2 weekend) this last time friday-monday and bd/lo pay was 4 days
the rule is no bd pay when at home. it's in the book again you knew it (or should have) so stop crying about it
how do you know they lied.....? what you were at a term and they had some trucks and wouldn't let you have one...? ever think they maybe they holding them for other drivers already
realy....?
1st your post just comes off sounding like you are just a bitter person.
2nd you did go their
i do it's called MY JOB..! did every r/p (unless i didn't want to go their) was always one of the first 10 truck on fema, did extra on fema that other drivers couldn't to the point that i get calls from VP's asking me to do things for them or IF i would like loads like the ones they had going to alaska last year, people at corp know me because when they call and ASK it will always get done,
yes things have changed just as things ALWAYS DO so what...? don't like it leave..! even with the pay cut i took to do what we do now i still happy
i have spent more time sitting around the terminals than you have and you know what i have found..? all the drivers that want to cry about things not going the way they want all seen to find each other and have a big group cry. the rest of the drivers don't want to hang out with them...Last edited: Mar 20, 2011

Well, I made it in to Markham this morning. Now I sit until delivery tomorrow morning and then hopefully I'll get a load headed for KC and then get on home.
-
Fingers crossed you get home on time.
We are running across Minnesota, upper wisconsin, the U.P. Of Michigan and down into Michigan proper. It would be a beautiful trip in the summer. -
flood, First you say "why should they pay you to sit around your house...?"
Then you say "now as to dr. appts i have 4 a year and in all the time i have worked for usx i have only missed 1 and i got paid to sit home for 2 weeks until i could get in. "
You also say "it looks like all you want to do is not follow the rules and then wine when things don't go your way." then you say
"that took 1 phone call to someone much higher than my fm..... "
Which indicates that you, either, did not "follow the rules" by not following the chain of command and going through your fm first, or you went through the fm then had to go beyond him to settle it., in which case you lied about 1 phone call. If, I as I suspect it is the latter, then anything you say here is suspect because, as my Grandma used to say once a liar, always a liar. Maybe that was the infamous phone call from Max. IF that happened.
So, I will digress and admit that USX is IN YOUR OPINION a perfect company and nothing bad ever happens to any employee or driver here. Tell that to all of the employees at the OKC terminal who lost their jobs, without warning, one week after Thanksgiving in 2008. That is also why there are 50-100 drivers in orientation every week. According to you the company is prefect and no one would ever want to leave so there should be minimal turnover.
Since you seem to have an answer for everything that you know nothing about, I will not worry about trying to explain anything else, or respond, to you again.
Have a good life. -
Fingers crossed...LOL.......I've got a PP for a load headed for the Kansas City area. That usually means I'm headed home from there.....if so...I'll be home tomorrow afternoon.
-
Hey! Two whole Loads and 4000 miles without a breakdown! We are sitting in East Tawas Michigan waiting to get unloaded. Have a pre-trip heading to Markham empty and then to Henderson Colorado (sure it is a Fedex load) so that will make 5400 miles for the week and we did not get started until Wednesday afternoon. I do not understand the routing along Hwy 8 through Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with all of the little towns and 2 lane roads but it was pretty and I did not kill a single deer. That is a pretty big accomplishment on that road.
