Black trucks are for Dedicated Dollar General DC out of Jonesville, SC and some make it up to the South Boston, VA Dollar General DC.

I drive one of them. :biggrin_25515:

Sometimes when a driver leaves the account they keep the truck and we also get sent OTR when it gets slow. I get alot of "where did you get that black truck" questions.

Anyone have any Dollar General account questions? Id be happy to answer any of them. The money is really good and I get home almost every weekend.

I was going to call him a tr....um....something not very nice and make a snide comment about his employment...or apparent lack thereof.

But I deleted the post so I wouldn't get in trouble.

Why mind games? Sometimes there is a load that needs to move, and the driver that gets planned on the load is the best option available, even if he does have home time due.

The planners job is to move freight. As far as I know, nobody around here has time to sit around and think of ways to screw with drivers.

Its your choice if you feel like you have to call and double check everything. The info we give you is the info we have from the customer at the time. If it is wrong, I know its easy to just blame Swift, but Swift is not always the one in the wrong.

Oh make sure you dont scratch one. Or fail to report a scratch. My last job I work as an on-site supervisor for a 3PL at WalMart in Lewiston, ME, and their drivers would look for chances to throw mine under the bus at any chance.

We've got a good relationship with Wal-Mart at our DC. We've got a great FM who works hard at it.

When it's wrong it invaribly works to my benifit. If it's supposed to be a preload/drop and it turns out to be live, it's always gone over 2 hrs and I get detention pay. If it's live and turns out to be drop/preload ... then I pick up a couple of hours on my trip/PTA.
