I want to say you need 6months to a year to get on with them but im not 100% on that.
I'll tell you why I dont know much about them though, I was researching all the differant companys I could find and when I came across heartland I learned that they have or had anyway a 0 Tolerance for late deliverys, meaning if your late your done....Which also means from what I've heard they give you lots of time to get there, so unless the customer will take there stuff early that can and will limit the amount of miles you can run if your always waiting around to unload.
Now I for one can tell you if something can happen, it WILL happen in trucking....so being late or needing to reschedual is part of the biss in my opinion.

See i took drug screen & physical when i 1st started 7 months ago but didn't get medical card cause my work didn't specify on paperwork. So now they need me to have medical card for if i get pulled over. My question is do i have to take drug test again?
-
just go to your local clinic and ask for a DOT Physical, and yes I do beleive the pee test is part of it...

You are with 12 years expirience and didn't think to ask for med card? Better get one before you go another mile. I am looking to switch companies and researching some to see the safety ratings. It is surprising how many no or expired medical cards I see listed.

You have to pee in a cup for a med card. My doc told me its not for drugs though, it is to check sugar levels.
I dont see anywhere on the long form asking about drugs. -
You don't usually have a drug test during your physical. Like the poster above said it is to check your sugar level for diabetes. The peepee test comes when you get hired on with a company.
-
When you go for a physical you should have a drug test. They usually check for diabetes and certain drugs when you take your physical. Most carriers will also perform a drug and alcohol test prior to employment. They also do random drug tests on drivers which is a federal requirement.

You need to have minimum 1 year OTR in the past 3 years. No more than 6 months out of a truck or you need to do a refresher, which is just like a couple weeks with another driver. I have not seen many of those lol.
On the time to get loads delivered.
They give you enough time, but not really too much. Many times you end up having to sleep at a receiver since you have to deliver before you could get in a break.
They keep it tight. But they expect you to know how to route and plan to get the load delivered.
70% or more is drop and hook.
The big ones for ontime are retail type delivery's. Petsmart, sears, kmart etc.
These loads deliver to stores and are exactly on time. But you can park at the store docks. So not really and issue most of the time.
