Hey everyone sorry for last week not updating but with all the cramming and educational stuff I was swamped.

So the 1st week is down and This is how it went. Had classroom stuff all week getting us prepared for our permit, also had the DOT physical...did good on everything learned alot.

Lets see DOT Physical was good BP a little higher then I like but passes. Did all my paperwork with admitting, plus an overview with Lisa on some pre-hires. Took the final exam tests for class room passed with a 97% overall. Took the DMV written Test on Thursday and Passed all three with a 90% or better.

We had three recruiters thru the week come in and bore us to death but at least two out of the three brought us lunch.

Heading back up tonight, and start out in the yard learning to shift and back up and our Pre-inspection for the next 3 weeks and then take out driving test around the 24th.

The school has really some great people working for it they make you feel at home and relaxed, there is 7 people in our class.

Ok guys sorry I haven't been keeping this up to date, been busy with school and family.

Its my last week starting tomorrow, I'll be testing all week, it should go something like this.

Monday will be yard time and Road time, Tue should be Yard+Road & Pre-Trip inspection test, Wed Road time and Backing test then off for the day. Thur (last Day) Road test, paperwork, Graduation DMV, Home....

I'm doing a lot of last minute studying for the Pre-trip, Backing is 98% solid (a little weak on parallel) Road Test we're good but will fine tune down-shifting this week. My weakest point on the roadtest is stopping at the limit line....uuuggg! but I'm conscious of it so I should be good.

Over-all experience has been good The instructors are good and the other students are good people as a class we all pull together to help and root for each other.
Its been fun and an experience that I will cherish for yrs, now after this week goes by will comes all the hard choices about companies and dealing with getting the family prepared for me being gone etc.

Pray for me in this final week as I approach these test with a little apprehension. I feel that I will do good but that is my positive attitude kicking in...lol:biggrin_25525:

    wicked Thanks this.

You'll do fine. I was a little nervous about mine, but before I knew it I was in line at the dmv. Now I'm almost 3 weeks into training.

    Alright everyone I'm done!

I passed with an overall score of 97.2%, My wife even came up with my kids to see me on Graduation day and went to the DMV with me (thank god) that she was there, cuz when we got there it had a line out the door. she went up to the security guard and asked if we needed to wait since all i had to do was turn in my paperwork from the school and they have 2 designated windows for CDL stuff. They said no and I was off to the window.

So we had a great day shopping with the kids and eating while up in SLC, Ut area before we went home (160 miles away).

This next week I'll be taking my doubles/Triples and tanker endorsements. I'll be working on my HazMat for a later date.

Got some good news from my WFS career person earlier this week that one of our local company will under certain conditions and along with a new program in part with the local government and DOT will hire recent grads. The extra cool part of this is that we know the owners, my 20 yr old son works there is the parts/service dept and we have plans to move to St george in the near future and they have a terminal there. So hopefully maybe I can get in the door there stay local, get some good training pulling doubles and the guys there average $250-350 a day

Well I'm off here for now have to get my 10 yr old to Baseball try-outs

Got a call into a local company that works with WFS to hire new grads, hoefully will hear from them today.

I took my doubles/triples and tanker test yesterday so just got to get my hazmat and I'll be off and running...
