New to this forum alot of useful info. Ihave been talking to werner about their dedicated dollar general in Alachua fl. Was wanting to know if anyone works this account or other DGs somewhere else? What should I expect if I get hired on with them?

Are you a newbie? There's a lot of threads about DG w/ Werner on here, most ly negative, tight parking, hard to get into and a lot of labor rolling those carts. I think the reason newbies get those is they don't know any better and don't really know what they are getting themselves into.Real easy to have accidents w/ DG especially for inexperienced drivers, and that's why they are always looking for new drivers on them,to replace the guys that they fired cause of too many accidents working them.If you are a newbie do you really want to take a chance at ending your career before it really starts? The good accounts are hard to come by and veteran drivers know better than to take those gigs.Do a search of threads (werner Dollar General)and you will see for yourself.

I'm gonna try my best to stay away from the dreaded DG accounts as much as possible! I saw a DG in Hamden Ct over the weekend and it looked pretty sketchy even from my girls little Kia! I'd hate to attempt it in a rig!

Mayo; update on my son;after testing out in atlanta/lithia springs 3/23 my son went to meetings about DEF etc.Was in hotel till 3/29,they gave him and another driver a rental car ,they were told to run a log in the rental car?(there were no trucks available in ATlanta)and they were told to drive to allentown pa,they should be there now, turn in rental car and wait at terminal for first assignment. If no truck today back to hotel till a rig is assigned,After making first delivery,he has to turn in voucher for $500 bonus for training w/ no hometime. Then 3 months later,he started1/3/11, he can put in for well deserved hometime:it's almost like they kidnapped him but he's not complaining,he's a very laid back guy and not much bothers him, a good attribute if you're a trucker.Take care!
