Good idea that would save alot more room versus a long pole. Any luck with bites using a kiddie pole?

We carry two of the instant Fisherman poles in the truck, and a small lure box. There are places to stop and fish. We've stopped at the casino in Osceola IA before and fished there. You can get a three day permit at walmart there for about $18.

The instant Fisherman isn't exactly the BEST pole, but it works well enough to pull in some decent crappie.

There are tons of lakes up in northern IA that we would love to stop at too. Just haven't had the chance yet.

Yes, Big Les, I did have some luck. It was a long time ago but I remember catching a small fish somewhere in Nebraska. I got a kick out of showing off my prize before putting him back because I had taken a little ribbing from a couple drivers--the spot was near a truck stop. But the best catch using that Snoopy pole was a nice size Halibut caught while fishing off a pier near San Diego. That one made it to the dinner plate!

An ultralight rigged with 4lb and a wallet full of roostertails will carry easy and will pull fish from the smallest creeks. I pulled a few bass from a pool in a creek bed barely big enough to park the truck on.
