I was told I would be sent to crowder college for a few days to evaluate my driving skills before going with a trainer. I my training has been in my opinion less than stellar. I am worried about going up there and being turned away at the school. How often does that happen?

My wife and I both went to the 7 day "boot camp" at Crowder. It is not a "weed out" process as it is a learning, fine tuning process. Very helpful instructors, you will learn alot. From my experience, and what I have heard, the only ones that turned away at that point were the one that just couldn't drive, didn't have a clue, and wouldn't listen. We went there right out of our cdl school, no experience, barely able to drive, and did fine!!! It was great.
landy77 Thanks this. -
You don't come out of any CDL school as a professional driver, you come out with a CDL and that's all. So, your school may not have been all that bad.
I went to Crowder for the full 5-week licensing class so avoided the boot camp, but, I did interact with all of the instructors, including boot camp, it is a great place and everyone is very helpful. Do not worry about falling out.
You may miss a gear or two, but if you handle the truck safely, you will do fine at boot camp and at the Conway orientation and on the road!!! Its that simple.
Face it, Every day on the road is a road test!!! Let me know if I can answer any questions about Conway, Crowder, or whatever.
Check out my thread on this site (journal) called "Crowder to Conway to Finishing". That will give you a good feel.
Good Luck, Road Realtor -
I learned more at that boot camp at Crowder College than was ever taught to me by my CDL mill uh I mean school. It was very fun and interesting! You will do fine, if I made it through shifting as badly as I was you will too and they will work with you to shift even better. Take Care and Good Luck!
