Following Lupe and Truckerdaddy...if you are hired as a trainee, to get reimbursed, I believe you will have to go to the Conway preferred school at Crowder college in the Joplin area. If you make it through school, orientation, get hired, and do 7500 miles with a finisher (about 3 weeks) you will be issued a truck and given a load to deliver. When you deliver that load, all but $1000 of the Crowder tuition is paid.
For getting home, I stay out 4-5 weeks, this particular trip is 7 but it was my choice. I believe you can request home time after 10 day out and they will get you home in the next 8.
One day off for every week out.
Verify with your recruiter on everything I put down here but I am 99.9% on all of it.
Look for a thread in here called Crowder to Conway to Finishing. It is basically my journal of my experiences...Been out of finishing since late Oct or early Nov and am enjoying it. Winter in a truck is different for this Florida boy but I did ok...never drove faster than my guardian angel could fly.
If you don't have a recruiter at Conway ask for Christine and tell her I sent you. Shoot me a private message for my name and emp number so that I get credit for the referral.
I get on line once or twice a week so be patient. Whew...7 weeks...home on Saturday if all goes well...can't wait!!!
Road Realtorxlsdraw Thanks this. -
Can you get more miles as a solo driver if you want them? Say...3500/wk.
-
Ditto, I was wondering the average miles that the solos are running!!. Thanks.
-
The average miles SOLO's are running are 2500. Freight is up and there are some getting more than 2500 but expect 2000-2500 as the norm.
truckerdaddy24 and wulfman75 Thank this. -

average miles for solo are 2600 to 3000 this week i have 4667miles
-
Cool, How did you legally do that? I'm impressed but I just can't see where that would be legal in a solo situation. Thanks.
