Hello Everyone! I am not sure if this is the right place to ask or not, so please forgive me if it's out of place.

My husband is doing his training at Central right now, but he got stopped by the cops because the truck he's training in has tinted windows. He's going to get points against his driving record because of this! We are at a loss about how to dispute this or if we even can dispute it.

Does anyone know how to handle this? Wouldn't it be the company's responsibility to ensure the trucks are safe and comply with the law? My hubby is barely starting his career and he's already got a ding on his record for something he has no control over.

Furthermore, the driver that's training him has been very difficult, yelling and shouting at my hubby for things like NOT driving close enough to the truck in front of him in the lane... so my hubby is afraid to talk to the anyone at the company when this driver's in earshot.

If any of you have any advice or guidance, we would appreciate it IMMENSELY. Thank you so much!

Jo jo. I know it sounds dumb, but tell him to take his phone into the shower or take advantage of a time when the trainer is in the restroom or something. You have to find time for it. Or, if he has the ability, tell him to just get the e-mail address and send an e-mail. He has to report the ticket to safety and will have to talk to them I am sure. I have wanted to get light tint on the front windows, didn't think tint on a truck was too different from tint on a car, meaning non-moving violation therefore no points, just money out of the pocket. Who told your husband it would be points? Is it maybe points off his CSA score? Did he get the legal plan while in school? We did, and it is supposed to be effective immediately. Regardless, the trainer darn for sure should pay the ticket as it was his truck with tint, not your husband's.

Oh, and since I was half asleep before, that place in LA was smallest to deliver beer. Smallest to deliver paper, monarch manufacturing in salida co. Both places you have to find wood scraps around the grounds to raise the trailer to their dock. Monarch is literally at someone's home.

Looks like i get to keep this Dedicated trailer with the trailer skirts... It's growing on me.... As stupid as the trailer skirts look, those combined with super single tires gave me a .2 increase in mpg going from North Cove, NC to Waukegan, IL pulling 44k.

Thanks so much mama mia. I really, really apprecaite your feedback. The points I was referring to was for the CSA score (I'm not really sure what that is but my hubby is concerned about it). We did get the legal plan.

I'll pass along your advice to my hubby. Thanks again!!

Jojo tell your husband to talk to someone in safety first about the ticket, chances are it is a non-moving violation and no points on his license or CSA.

Second talk to training department and tell them you are having personality conflicts with your trainer and you need a new trainer.

Third let the training department know about the tint on the windows of the truck, and you should not have to pay the ticket since they certified his truck as legal to train in, that may not get you anywhere but at least they need to know about it .

Thanks bigrigtruckdriver, I'll pass that along to my hubby. I do know that he spoke with someone in the safety department already, but didn't have privacy to tell him what he really wanted to say because the trainer was nearby.

I keep telling my hubby to get a new trainer but he doesn't want to rock the boat. He is in his last week of training and thinks he can survive... I hope he's right! This trainer only wants to get miles, he doesn't let him do paperwork or backing, so I'm afraid he's not learning enough to be on his own...

Thanks again, and be safe on the road! :)

He not doing backing??? That is required!!! Which means he's fasifying the training booklet and your husband has to sign it. ROCK the boat...

You better tell your hubby to rock the boat hard until someone falls out. I agree with celticwolf. You need to tell jim if he doesn't stand up for his learning noone else will. If he ends up testing and can't back or can't shift or any number of other things he will go back out with another trainer. Which is better, rock the boat and get with a trainer that will do what he needs now or end up back out with another trainer putting off how long it will be before he sees you.

The last time we were in the terminal a trainee rolled a truck on one of the mountain curves in virginia, I believe. Ron asked if that was really how it was that the trainers are interested only in money and not training, hence he was in the back asleep when the trainee rolled the truck. I said I have to believe there are a few who train, but so many just crack the whip to get miles to pay for the truck and worry about the rest later. They take a hit in pay for training versus running as a true team with someone, so it is sort of understandable, but I have no idea how to really fix it. When you upgrade you are given a survey to fill out, but most people aren't totally honest so things aren't fixed and the trainers who are no good continue and are even rewarded. It is a difficult thing. I am glad they aren't training teams together. It was rough.

Anywhooooo, on another note. OMG, we are at mdi in hickory and there was a guy that was at least 500 lb that literally told me to squeeze by him so I could get out after going to the lumper window. Anyone who has been here can imagine a 5'6" 500 lb guy in that area. Now keep in mind I am not teeney, but give me a break. Is that the only way a woman can touch him. I feel I need another shower. GRODDY!!!!
