If they were already on the spreadsheet I wouldn't hesitate. But to send alll of my receipts so they could be entered is another. I don't trust the mail system that much and it seems that if somthing can go wrong it will. I'm trying to talk my SIL into doing it for me.
Started out good entering them daily then went to weekly now I have 6 months of receipts that need to be entered into the spreadsheet. Thats what I get for procrastinating.

Can you write a proposal for a job bid ? I have a opportunity to bid on a contract in the future with Clorox, I have no ideal.
-
Good thing you are subletting the writing of the proposal as you have "no idea".

Proper grammar and spelling is imperative. -
Really? Spelling police? That kind of behavior is not frowned upon on this forum, or have you missed that in the past?Last edited: Apr 1, 2011

I don't think mgfg completely intended to flame - I read it as underscoring the point that Hardhead is making the right decision to hire a proofreader or technical writer.
That would actually be a pretty valuable service provided by someone with industry knowledge. There's a growing market of virtual office assistants available on the internet, but the majority wouldn't have trucking business knowledge that might be important with a business proposal.
An attorney would do that for you, but at a much higher rate than just reviewing content that you put together in advance with the help of a writer. -
You can drive for me. Be happy to pay you $.20/mile to start. And after a couple of years we can talk about bumping that to $.22. I am all about the incentive plan.
-
My back and shoulder wouldn't deal too well with driving a rig anymore.
I will definitely have to look into the idea of writing proposals of that type. I do have a knack for writing things of a business nature already, so that is a good idea of something to look into! -
You could be right on the first part. We generally do post something regarding comments on spelling though, as that is frowned upon around the forum.
I will look into this additional idea. -
So work smart, not hard. Take a page from people who write software and the macros (little programs) that run in MS Office applications: the best writing is the stuff someone else already did and posted on the internet.
You're not publishing copyrighted work, so plagiarism is the way to go. Of course you do need to be careful that the work you grab is NOT copyrighted. For example, sample documents on a legal document service website. If you're good at finding stuff on the internet, all you got left to do is find some existing work that's close to what you would have done yourself, make some edits and personalize to the client and - voila - you get paid!
Even better, if you can develop some templates, you reduce the amount of effort even more.
Just make sure you put in a huge disclaimer that you don't make any claims to being an attorney and strongly recommend that your client hire one for a final review before depending on it. -
I do like your thinking sir!
I have used plenty of the Office templates for other things in the past! They are awesome. I can turn stuff up on the internet pretty easy too. That is one thing I do have a knack for as well.
