My truck doesn't have an APU, but has a lot of 12v outlets, even a switched outlet from the console. It's an 05 International.

A couple of drivers I have met have Coleman units and they aren't real impressed with them. One has failed twice in a year. I was leaning toward an Igloo cooler for about $30 more (118.00). I'd pay more for a good one as it will eventually pay for itself compared to eating at truck stops I would think anyhow..

What are some of the better ones?

Go to Costco and get one. If something should happen to it, just bring it back and get a replacement or your money back.
