Last week was not a usual week. We had a B service done an of course they found other stuff so we ended up 3 days in terminal, even tho the truck is 2011. That was wed thru Fri afternoon.
We always call ahead to c if we can deliver early so that is not the problem. Only once have we been told no.
Our DM has been on vacation an is back tomorrow, so we are gonna have a talk.
Hopefully we can figure out what is going on.
VERY SAD HAFTA MOVE! Thanks Swift!

Good luck wyld--i am with the other guys. Something dont seem right with that. Hopefully your DM can help you out. Keep your head up!
Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
Something is definitely not right. No idea why you're not getting more miles than that. How are you setting your PTA? Here's my advice on PTA: set it for as early as possible, with maximum hours available. A team should always have 22 hours available. When you set your PTA, each of you should show 11 hours available. Don't try to get fancy with the math. The only time you don't do this is when you are close on your 70.
I don't care what that log book says. Here's why: one team member runs 6 hours, will have 5 more at drop. But. When the other team member's turn comes, the first will go to bed while the second drives an 11-hour shift....and have 11 hours available when they switch. Therefore, teams always have 11 hours each available.
Set your PTA for 15 minutes after you deliver. Every time. This locks you a place in line for a load.
And definitely have a sit-down with your DM. If this doesn't seem to help, talk to the next person in the food chain....and so on....
Good luck to both of you.The Challenger and Wyldfyur Thank this. -
Something is very wrong, I have been getting slammed with miles for the last 5 weeks. I'm sitting right at 3500 past 7 days for example, this # is very good miles for any company. Get something changed or do something different...

I am in agreement with Injun. I know when done right teams can average 7K miles a week. My questions are:
Do you have your hazmat and Twic cards??? If not, go ahead and invest in the hazmat. It will benefit you later on as it makes all loads available, particularly if you are in a dead freight area where only hazmat is avail. Do you utilize your driving time to the full t??
KHWyldfyur Thanks this. -
Any PROBLEMS , log violations , truck / trailer damage ?
These things can affect the way your getting loads .Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
Ok, you have talked to your DM a few times, and nothing has changed. You need to go to your FM or even the TM. There is no reason a team should not be putting 4000-6000 or more miles a week. We have team freight going coast-to-coast. Are you guys turning down a lot of freight?

The freight is there. Something's very wrong with this picture!
Injun Thanks this. -
my partner and i split up cause they were starving us out there too. not sure swift is the right company for teams. we were never late and never refused a load not sure what the problem was were doing better now he went back to mentoring and im solo and making more now

Oh wow. I agree, something is VERY wrong. I know our fleet manager really wants us back so we can run. If you move to AZ let me know and I'll talk to our FM.
