Don't give up. There are some more good companies out there. Just get on somewhere and put in a little time you'll do fine. Good Luck

According to ZippyNH the $50/week was not for school or school reimbursement, so I'm not sure what your point is. I agree with you about telling students about the $50 before they hire on. It allows guys like ZippyNH to make educated decisions, and to go with a carrier that's gonna treat them better. It seems Wel only wants the benefits of hiring new drivers (i.e. low wages), without all the associated costs that come along with hiring students.

CA is pretty limited....lots to flaggstaff, phionex....been to LA and frisco, mondesto and sacremento....but I think all CA trips are live loads...no drop and hooks in CA for the company I did training FULL OTR, am now running NE regional.
One thing to consider...lifestyle ....reefed has lots of wait time on deliveries to grocery wherahouses....often late night early am...so lots of back side of the clock...
More per mile $, but less miles due to wait time.
CA with lower truck speed limits can be tough...less miles...more regs....worse roads..
I'd look for a western regional otr type off thing....might be mostly in ca, but some opportunity to get some "easy" non CA miles in ajoining states.
    Good luck....
I paid $$ for my school too...and starting pay is iffy at most companies. Some are better to work for....from the stories I have heard, watch out for the big monster starter companies...they seem to set folks up to fail....the smaller sized starters like WEL, HOW, etc seem to have much higher sucess rates for newbies ....and as a starter NEVER LEASE.

Don't really want to work just in CA, I would love to do the western region...heck I would do all 48 if need be...It seems to me it may be safer to drive at night...not so many crazies on the road to cut you off
