I just want to thank all of you for your help and support. I've never really been on any forum til I found this one. Everyone I have talked to with the questions and concerns have made me feel alot better about getting into trucking. I hate to fail, and I hate not being able to do something. Even though I'm 5 ft tall, I'm walking alot taller thanks to you guys. best wishes and be safe out there. lilbit

My wife is 5' and she can't reach the clutch pedals on any of our trucks.
I would go to a truck dealership and just try on a few models that would be my suggestion.

New trucks will be no problem, Older trucks maybe. One problem is the closer you move the seat up the steering wheel gets in the way and if thats not adjustable then it sucks, guy in my class had a hard time driving with the seat so close to the steering wheel and not being able to adjust it.

I drive an 07 Volvo, far as fleet trucks go, that's an older truck. to test your ability to drive one of these things, I put my wife in the driver seat. She stands a whopping 4 foot 9 inches and weighs in at a whole 90 pounds, soaking wet and fully dressed. She was able to drive it just fine. If she can reach those pedals and drive, I'm fairly certain you can

i'm not a huge guy in stature, only about 5'4", but i'm all spine - i have a 29" inseam...short leg jokes here we go...

I have a little trouble getting the clutch all the way to the floor in my '09 International Prostar limited, but really, you only have to do that from parked, so i just scooch ahead on the seat a tiny bit to do that.

Have you ever considered just doing "short" hauls. :biggrin_2559: Couldn't resist.
